Evade's Collision Damage - Reach 360 v Reach PC

Just yesterday I tried to recreate a game mode I love playing in Reach of 360. It’s rockets, with 300% movement speed, 75% gravity, and Evade and we typically play on High Noon since it’s walled in.

In Reach (360) Evade seems to have some kinda damage protection during the actual evade animation that typically prevents damage from running into walls. With the high speed an low gravity, evade flings you across the map and uncontrollably running into walls is the name of the game.

In Reach (PC), this protection does not appear to be there. Instead, high speed collisions with walls almost always results in a suicide. Which basically renders the game mode unplayable.

From my brief experiments comparing the 360 and PC versions, it appears that colliding with the walls in the 360 version triggers the end of the Evade animation, which I assume stops the movement speed and thus prevents collision damage.

I would probably file a bug report about this on the Halo Support site if you think it may be a bug: https://aka.ms/HaloSupport

I had already done that. They gave me this lame response:

We very much appreciate the time and effort taken to provide information on this issue. There unfortunately will be some little differences between the Xbox 360 version and PC. Due to the age of the game it is difficult to re-create every detail on PC. We welcome feedback like this and have greater structure for accepting and responding to this type of feedback at https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums.
