Evade - March Playlist Update Discussion

• With the exception of Grifball, Evade has been removed from Spartan loadouts.

At first I was personally disappointed, since I would pick Evade over any other AA… but in all honesty, it was overpowered (hence why I pick it :P).

Ultimately a very good decision by 343.

No worries. It was fun, probably op, but not the end of the matchmaking world.

Brilliant decision, the hitboxes were very, off, for Evade with Spartans, although I would use it at any given time, it was still a bit overpowered.

Quick question: Is this just Multiplayer playlists or Firefight as well?

If Firefight, what will be replacing the AA in that loadout?

I always thought evade was overpowered. You could cover roughly the same distance as Sprint, but have the added bonus of spoiling your opponent’s shots.

Will sort of miss evade for Spartans as I always used it when available but I get that it needed to be addressed. The hit box was off but not impossible to get a kill.

:confused: Gonna miss Evade in objective BTB games.

Im glad 343 came to there senses and have rolled out a <mark>complete removal</mark> of evade. I have always been very annoyed with this ability and its un Halo like appeal as well as the overpowered nature.

Wonder why they took it out…IMO i thought it fit BTB Objectives just fine…

How about since you guys think its okay to ditch Evade from Matchmaking, why don’t you do something about Armor Lock… Huh?

Armour Lock is fine in its TU state, Evade was bad in its Vanilla and TU state, it allowed a very easy get a way, while Armour Lock just delays it.

Also, Evade is still in, just for Elites.

This is a good change.

Now how about jetpacks? They need to go.

TU Armor lock is pretty worthless, though.

Evade as in continue to evade the arena threads?

OT: Glad to see it leave. As fun as it is/was, no other abilities measure up.

IMO Evade was just fine in BTB objective I didn’t think they were overpowered at all. I think it should stay.

remove evade, yet keep jet pack and armor lock?

I haven’t used armor lock since Reach was first released but from my observation of teammates with AL it was still decent if you used it well.

Full AL could still destroy ghosts et cetera. Being able to blast it;s length down with nades or something made AL users much more vigilant with their use of it. If you use it it a bad situation, you are dead. People praised this change from Vanilla Reach.
