Eurogamer 2012

After playing Halo 4 at eurogamer 2012 about 3 times on 3 different game modes and using over 10 different guns and using some of the armor abilities, I can ensure everyone that Halo 4 has turned out beautifully and Is going to be one of the best games on 2012 mabye even game of the year! I played regicide, infinity free for all and the new Flood mode! Flood is a brilliant and better mode compared to infection, Compared to Halo reach’s infection, Flood mode is more balanced in the way of survivors and the infected flood characters being as powerful as each other, flood have shields and the magnum doesn’t kill them instantly with a headshot but don’t think of this as a downside to the survivors, the shotgun is powerful enough to hold off a group of flood if you get your shots right, but one wrong shot and you will be surrounded and infected within in a couple of seconds, Flood Mode is brilliant and will defiantly get a huge amount of attention from the fans and become a brilliant game type from the flood and survivors point of view.

Halo 4’s multiplayer is very reminiscent of Halo 3’s multiplayer but doesn’t completely feel like it, it feels new and fresh and with the amount of new weapons and customisation options in the way of loadouts and character design, it will defiantly keep the fans entertained for years! Such as halo 3 did when it was released back in 2007, I will just like to say a massive thanks to 343 industries allowing us to play Halo 4 at Eurogamer and A huge thanks for making this game so fantastic!!! Bring on November 6th!

Oh I envy you SOOO much for being able to have played it already! That’s all good to hear. I was expecting it to turn out well, and I have been thinking that it was so far. However I was worried about killcams. Can you tell me which gametypes they were in? I don’t like the thought of them in slayer. I’m fine with them in objective. How were they to you? But I’m glad to hear everythings turning out great, I thought it would! P.S. I thought the Flood mode looked to be much better too!

Plus a few questions:

  1. You said what gametypes you played, but what maps did you play on? How’d you like them?

  2. What was your favorite weapon? (of the one’s you used)

Killcams are in all gametypes but can be skipped and you will spawn straight away by pressing the X button or By pressing Y you can edit your Loadout and then spawn straight away, so I don’t think the killcam system isnt that bad and wont bother me too much but me and my friend are so anticipated for Halo 4!

PS managed to bag some awesome Halo 4 T-shirts as well as a special edition Halo combat evolved T-shirt

Great to hear! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

okay.
A few questions:

thanks :)!

so 3 games was enough to get a good enough read on the game?

don’t think so…

…lucky =… I wanna play

On the Question side of things

  1. The only map I played was Wraparound but they did show solace as well and found wraparound to be a brilliant map but i wish i could have played on the other maps as well but it’s all luck of the draw on what you get map you get to play

  2. I love the battle rifle as a starter weapon, it is very powerful and accurate and when being able to use an assault rifle when using the specialisation to use two primary weapons, it makes a good combination, but compared to the buzz I got when using the sticky detonator… boy that was a different experience and the binary rifle as well was an amazing weapon to use as well!

Well it’s better than not playing it at all and judging and thinking the game is going blow by watching videos and trailers…

what really is the difference though? 3 games and 10 weapons is really a worse judge of a game then analyzing video footage for as much information as possible, those 3 games doesn’t give you enough time to compare weapons together, try out new ways to use and succeed with them, no reall time at all, all you’re going to be doing is playing the game and having fun while not really being able to pull any usefull information because of the amount of stuff that is there to find in less then an hour, no where near enough time.

analzying video footage how ever is different, you’re running through different videos comparing how the weapons acted, how people where using them, how they could be used and how effective they actually are in combat, with the amount of videos around and the amount of time you can spend analzying the video footage provides much much more information then about 30 - 40 mins of playing the game.

i don’t really beleive in anything, i just look for logic.

i don’t beleive the game is going to be bad, its just everything i’m seeing is pointing towards a lot of problems being prominent in the final build.

Just saying, for anyone wanting to know, i played Halo 4 for around 16 games at Eurogamer 2012 on Thursday and i can tell you that every single game-type is awesome and fair, the weapons are perfectly balanced, and the maps are just sheer awesomeness and really easy to get to grips with. Halo 4 is sooooo awesome and i can’t wait for November 6th!!

P.S. i really hope they make the True Skill system visible and intricate to the games ranks, i also thought it worth mentioning that i harassed Frank O’Connor about this when i saw him about to be interviewed by IGN, and he said that they ARE implementing a True Skill system similar to Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, however they are still deciding whether or not to make it visible to the players (like in Halo 3).
