EU Server? Or will we be forgotten again?

So well yeah, nearly always I got matched against US players I and some friends [we all are from germany and france, GB] very often get killed often by US players - rarely by skill, more by connection. It sucks to be behind a wall for 2 to 3 seconds and and we still got killed by the opponent.

I hope we get the EU servers for the release cause it sucks in so many ways. I hate it so much to get killed not by an more powerful opponent but because of the lack of servers…

We need a better way to be connected to servers. MCC done this right with the settings where you can filter out servers that are not in your region.

I usually have a 20 ms ping so I guess there are eu servers. Idk if u connected to them or get matched with other servers sometimes

EU doesn’t exist fortunately

Even if I have 11ms to 25ms I still get server lag. I can snipe someone in the head and it does nothing. Shoot enemys that have no shields and they won’t die. Slam a hammer down and it does no damage. Even if I have overshields they get melted by a few bullets.

Hits not registering.
Getting shot around corners.
One hit melee kills.
Rubber banding.
Reloading your weapon twice.

It’s so frustrating knowing that my ping is grand and I’m glad I know now its not my internet or latency. It’s server lag.
When I die and the enemy hits or teabags my body they’re standing 3 feet away from where my dead body is. They’re hitting and shooting the ground and my body being 3 feet away moves!

Server lag or server desync is a problem that can be fixed if we had infinite like the MCC and can choose which servers to connect to.

Its not nice that there are these problems, but some people saying that there are no eu servers is just wrong

It’s more like it feels like there’s none because we’re constantly being placed in servers nowhere near the EU

That’s not true at all. There are 2 EU servers…one in Dublin and the other in Amsterdam.

I don’t know why we are being forced to connect to US servers at times though. I posted a similar thread last night, and I well remember the pain of having to play on US servers in Halo5….it’s not fun and not a fair game.

Ok… Well this is BAD then.
I’m from Ireland… if I’m that close to one of the servers and I’m getting buggy games from 8 out of 10 games I play. This is proof that your being placed into servers not in your region by default. I know SBMM is also not helping with connectivity. I knew that there’s 2 servers in the EU. I know about the one in the Netherlands and thought the other one was in England -London.

I have a feeling (but no proof) that SBMM, Rank, time of day, playlist and whether your queuing solo or as a team may all impact upon this. My only evidence is last night and this afternoon, I was playing either solo/duo and pretty certain that I was on US servers; where as this evening I was playing quick play and ranked as a team of 4 and all of the games were on EU servers. I have no evidence or explanation to support this…an alternative explanation could be that the servers I was playing on last night and this afternoon could have just had performance issues.

No no I get that believe me. For me it’s not even match after match most times it’s in the one match. At most times everything seems fine then all of a sudden everything feels off. Then I can easily tell thats its lag or desync. If I’m not too focused on the game and look at my ping. When the match is running smooth my ping is normal at 25ms when something happens and of course I’m like “how did they not die” my ping is at 70ms. When ever I’m rubber banding I get UNSTABLE PACKAGE LOSS and know theres no point in playing because on the server I’m more than likely walking into a wall.

Yeah having a bad connection to the server absolutely sucks and totally ruins the gaming experience…I absolutely get that!

I’m guessing you’re playing on PC? Count yourself lucky that you can see the ping as Xbox players can’t see that at all as the option simply isn’t there in the Halo settings menu.

I presume you’ve done all the basic checks at your end to see and rule out if it could be an issue with your broadband connection or equipment?

Also as a side note, you could live next door to the servers in Dublin and you wouldn’t be any more likely to connect to the Dublin server than I would in the UK.

There is latency setting in the UI that shows your ping on Xbox.

I usually get 20ms (EU), sometimes I get 100ms especially when I play with friends from overseas but sometimes the game throws me in a server with 300+ms, this happens a lot with join in progress games.

Ok nice one…didn’t know that was there as couldn’t find it previously. Is it an option to show on screen during a game or do you have to keep going in to settings to check?

It’s an on/off toggle and will always show your latency in the upper right corner, no need to go into some kind of sub-menu.

It will also show warnings like package loss or other abnormalities.

They should make the server selection similar to what MCC has

Do the host file trick or router trick and only allow yourself to connect to EU servers.

We do it in Aus

I had not paid attention to what servers I was in while playing Infinite. But on the MCC, I definitely experienced the same. Most matches I just get placed into US servers…

I’ll push this issue if you just admit you are afraid of us yanks :kissing_heart:

Can you explain what this means please?
