Griffball is one of my favorite gametypes in all of Halo, and Halo 5 is no exception. However, since their update a few months ago, I’ve constantly found myself receiving the Ban Hammer for teamkilling, and I feel it is outrageous. My favorite part of Griffball was the fact that you could just run out into the middle of the map hammer and swords ablaze, and not have to worry about the consequences. The fact is that most of the teamkilling in this game mode is collateral damage, and is not intentional. Now, I have to be much more careful where I swing my hammer, and still end up accidentally killing random teammates more often then not. All in all, the Ban Hammer has squashed any pleasure I got from playing Griffball, and if teamkilling is that big of an issue, I think they should just eliminate it entirely. Does anyone else have this problem?

It’s a tough call, with all the intentional teamkilling as well as the risk in game of killing your teammates in order to save the ball. Maybe if teammates had resistance to your damage?
Also, wonderfully clever title
You should already be more careful when swinging the hammer, because swinging incorrectly would put you at a bigger disadvantage than when you started.
Did you get that from Halo New Blood because I know Buck says it.

I understand that I’m probably a little too reckless when I swing the hammer, but at the same time, it’s infuriating to get the boot from the match just because some random kid keeps running between you and the enemy you’re clashing with.
Don’t worry man. it happens to everyone. Even me.

I’d rather have fun than worry about every little thing but I see your point.
I never use the hammer in grit ball and only use the sword.
Ya the betrayal banning killed Griffball j honestly
Just remove the friendly fire?

How is checking your immediate surroundings “worrying about every little thing”? It’s how you do basically anything in Halo.
Hmmm. I’ve gotten plenty of accidental team kills and no banhammer for me. Odd. I think that they should get rid of tem killing bans for grifball though.
No. Many random teammates have no brain swinging like brutes without brain and team killing.
Learn to actually plan to swing not just close your eyes and hammer everything.

But swinging wildly is a good way to destroy the enemy core
its a good
I only play grifball for when i needed to grind first strikes or ill play in fireteams, teammates are horrible, they’ll either team kill, boot “cuz eh why not”, or try (and fail) spawn kill rather than playing the game

All ban related traffic goes here, whining about a ban because he killed his teammates counts.

I don’t see how. Besides, if the Teamkilling is leading to so many people getting kicked from servers, they should just alter the settings so you can’t kill teammates. It would be one thing if it was all intentional, but most of the time it’s accidental.
