Halo Infinite is yet another example of how developers who care more about esports and the pro gamer can’t make a good experience for the average joes who only play a few hours a week. The play 50 hours a week try hard sweaty esports nerd is the extreme minority. Hell, I’m only even on the forums because I’m off from my full time job for Christmas and I wanted to enjoy halo but instead I’m here complaining about it because it’s boring.
343, most of us don’t give two craps about hcs. I couldn’t name one person who played in that stupid tournament where you couldn’t even get enough of your own console. I play halo to have fun, not to be an esports, sweaty, here’s my g-fuel promo code dork. Get your lives right.

It was like this in Halo 5 too but it seems we are continuing the tradition of scapegoating “esports” for Infinite’s deep flaws despite the fact that basically nothing about this game is built for the sake of competitive Halo players.
Like what on Earth are you even referencing? And why is the fault of “esports?”

What is it about E-Sports specifically that’s causing s problem for you?
Is it E-Sports related or just lazy developer related?

There should be two ips.
One for Halo
And one for comepetive Halo that takes the HCS settings from Halo 5 as standard

The multiplayer was released for people who are okay grinding the same few maps over and over and over again for hundreds of hours to unlock all the crappy battle pass items. There are like 3 game modes 5 okayish maps and all this is being funded by $500 for cat ears? But man that esports event sure was timely, wasn’t it? No, it’s BS. I refuse to sink my money into a game that’s primarily going to cater to sweaty ttv nerds who only stream to their dog and want you to use their g fuel code so you can inject into your eyeballs like them.
Im kind of trolling but not really. Im so sick of esports in fps games.

So your just upset because they did an Esports effect, which in reality you could ignore and it would never effect you in the slightest?
Still not seeing the problem here…

Definitely.
H5 was basically MADE for Esports, but at the cost of a Halo experience. H5 plays nothing like Halo, period.

They’re literally copying the business of Fortnite and cod and hosting an esports event less than a month after release when the game is missing so many features. It does effect me. It effects all of us. They’re monetizing this.

Thank god it’s f2p then, so you can quite literally not need to sink any money at all.
While I do think game development revolving around Esports is a bad thing as well as certain issues regarding Infinite in general, it seems like your entire problem with Infinite is that it’s barebones atm.
You’re not alone there, but make no mistake, this is NOT due to Esports. 343 just straight up didn’t make enough MP content, probably because they basically had to remake Infinite’s campaign from the ground up since the failed Craig reveal.

Hasn’t effected me in the slightest… I’m guessing this is more of a you issue then…

They’re still monetizing a multiplayer experience that’s half baked and they hosted an esports less than a month after release. I don’t care that it’s f2p. Copying Fortnite’s business model doesn’t excuse that.

That’s Nice
I’ll be sure to keep that in mind as I have fun playing…

Look, their monetization method has been talked to death.
You can either wait for it to improve which they MUST if they even wanna keep an Esports scene alive, not to mention their playerbase alive.
You either wait, or play MCC with us cool kids/old men who want a more wholistic experience.
You in, or you gonna keep whining on the forums?

I like MCC but I thought infinite was gonna be so much better. This game is a serious let down right now. Look if you’re going to charge $10 for cat ears, you better have crap together in the rest of the game. And they don’t.

Yea, I’m pretty much not spending on bundles period.
Season Pass, I can still accept, since it’s quite abit of content for 10 bucks.
Cat ears? I won’t even feel anything missing it.
It’s the principle for me. Seeing the same mediocre map design you expect from a COD game these days and then seeing all these rave reviews, an esports even, and cat ears just really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It’s everything I hate about gaming today.

In defense of 343, Deadlock, Highpower and Fragmentation are absolute beauties.
Deadlock is basically a Blood Gulch but rotated to be fat sideways.
Highpower is actually hella fun with a huge LoS break in the middle, but all the fighting is gonna gravitate to the high point on one side, and the slope hill on the other.
Fragmentation is essentially a mass of mini arenas scattered across the battlefield.
Sadly Esports aren’t gonna have BTB anytime soon, BTB is just plain fun.
You know, you being this condescending and passive aggressive really makes me not want to agree with you, you’re self sabotaging your own arguments

The only Halo game with practically no Esports was Halo 4… Halo CE, 2, 3, Reach, 5 and Infinite all had tons of competition.

I haven’t tried btb yet just simply because of all the bugs and glitches I’ve heard about. I will say those maps look pretty nice. The 4v4 maps are all pretty much garb though.
