In the end of Halo 2, The Arbiter fought Tartarus who had some kind of powered up over shield which can only be down if Johnson shot him with the beam rifle, but this time in Halo Infinite The pilot helps Chief on Defeating Escharum with some kind of power weapon which will help penetrate his armor and give Chief a short amount of time to do intense damage before his armor either repair itself or Escharum will be given some kind of power armor in the end similar to Tartarus. I heard the pilot is an important character in the story so what if this is it? What do you guys think about this topic, should it happen or not?
I wanna see the average joe taking down Escharum shields with a Spartan Lazer

Mmmmh, yessss
Please please please don’t let the fight be a cutscene or quick time event…
I would actually be extremely disappointed if I don’t have full control durring the battle. I’m so freaking excited to fight this Brute that I want to have a fun and exciting battle that requires me to actually think and plan out a strategy.
I repeat_… Please please please don’t let the fight be a cutscene or quick time event…_

I hope it’s a real anti-climax and the Pilot just accidentally crushes Escharum with his pelican half-way through the game.
That was sarcasm. Just in case.
I’d really like that. Boss battles are something I’ve missed from Halo 2.

F for Jul
With that cringy monologue there better be a cool boss fight

The monologue wasn’t that cringy, a little cliched, yes, but not too cringy.
I like this idea. I could imagine this.
Personally, I’m hoping Infinite doesn’t have actual boss battles. I’d rather they go the route of Halo CE and have large difficult battles that don’t focus on a particular unit. Three examples come to mind.
- The grav lift battle on Truth and Reconciliation.
- Defending yourself while 343 unlocks the door (there’s one particular instance that is very difficult) on The Library.
- The big battle at thr end of The Two Betrayals.
If there are boss battles though, I hope they’re large vehicle encounters like Scarab battles in H3.
Boss fights are one of the better aspects of Halo 2’s combat, I feel like boss fights are what really highlights a game if done right.

A gameplay fight with a villain character will always be better than a cutscene of them dying or a lame scripted quicktime event.

Then we shouldn’t have to fight Escharum on foot. We should fight his Scarab or Phantom or other big bad vehicle he’s piloting. Then you get the best if both worlds. A boss fight, but the gameplay will revolve around a big vehicle battle, and probably fighting through waves of support enemies.
Not being able to fit good story into fun gameplay segments is just bad storytelling imo.
