Escalation Issue 3 interesting quote

“Commander Palmer confronts the traitor who has betrayed her team, as the Covenant closes in on their position. With time running out, Lasky is forced to make a costly sacrifice to save the peace delegation from the impending attack.” That’s the description for Escalation Issue 3, what I find interesting is that it says that Palmer confronts the traitor. I think this is Halsey, but it could be somebody else that could be an interesting twist in the comic. Who do you think the traitor is, Halsey or somebody else that’l throw us through a loop?

That preview comes as a relief in some form.

When Issue 2 said that “however, their plans for escaped are jeopardized by a turncoat in their midst!”, I began to fear that the Jiralhanae-Sangheili alliance would go up in flames and result in any forward movement in the story being invalided.

However, it seems now that the “turncoat” isn’t the Brute Chieftain, but someone else. Halo may move forward after all.

(What if the turncoat is related to ONI?)

You know… I didn’t think about that before. That’d be really interesting if the turncoat was Halsey. Then that begs the question, is the purpose of interrupting the negotiations to retrieve the second half of the Janus Key from Infinity?

I’m going to die if it the traitor ends up being someone from Kilo-5 planted in the midst of the Infinity. This whole affair gives me a “Kilo-5 sabotage” operation type of vibe.

You mean somebody Like Vaz.

If the Arbiter’s Faction (they need an actual name, seriously) were to gain supporters from the Jiralhanae, there would be certain imbalance between the two sides of the Sangheili Civil War.

I wouldn’t be surprised if ONI had something to do with this. And the fact that Palmer “confronts” the turncoat may indicate that she may learn the ONI isn’t a very good ventriloquist for her to be used by. Escalation, by now, looks pretty damn awesome. It’s a shame that Schlerf left 343i.

Sangheili, Jiralhanae, Human negotiations?

Arbiter making an appearance?

Palmer figuring out that ONI is messed up?

Vaz being pointed out as not only the jerk he is but as a bad guy?

It’s becoming very difficult for me not to get my hopes up. This comic has the potential to undo SOOOOO much damage. It’s gonna be soul crushingly disappointing if things don’t work out.

Why do people keep going, ‘ONI is evil!’?

> Why do people keep going, ‘ONI is evil!’?

Is it not evil to secretly pull the strings behind the downfall of multiple races that had little choice in being forced to nearly destroy us when we could easily just make peace with them instead?

Is it not evil to commence a program that sends hundreds of children into suicide missions while at the same time, putting all of the blame on someone who’s program defied much less “ethical” guidelines?

> Why do people keep going, ‘ONI is evil!’?

Not evil, just messed up. Seriously messed up.

> Why do people keep going, ‘ONI is evil!’?

I’d consider the plan for “finishing the job” against the Elites so we can steal their planet and recolonize it fairly evil. Other than that, most of their plans could be considered more stupid and short-sighted than evil. Sabotaging a potential alliance between the Elites and Brutes is right up their alley too.
