Escalating a complaint about a moderator?

Anyone know how this is done?

Don’t want to go into details but is there a process to escalate a complaint regarding a moderator not remaining impartial?

I’ve had a quick search but can’t find anything specific.

Thanks!

I don’t think there’s any rules againss the moderation team taking sides or remaining impartial.

All of them have made it quite clear they take action on rules but are free to voice their stances/opinions within the rules that apply to all of us.

Certainly not.
They’re individuals who voluntarily moderate the forums according to the rules.
Other than that they’re free to partake in any discussion with any opinion they may have.

It’d be one thing if a Moderator abused their powers on individuals or subjects which aren’t to their liking, yet the thread never broke any rules. However I suspect no such thing has happened.

I suspect it has surrounding a certain topic I find myself involved in often.

partly due to bad apples coming in and spoiling the conversation as a result, but I much prefer the one that locks a thread temporarily than one that closes a topic, only leads to more fury when it inevitably returns again.

Yeah, the lockdowns really don’t help to make people quiet.

actually a lockdown can help I find, its basically the mod going “alright time out, go to your room and calm down.” which is preferable to the alternative, allows people to hopefully calm down.

Temporary locks are an automatic process as a result users flagging various comments. It’s not a human action.

I have a mod who stalks me and locks every thread I create regardless of reason. He does everything to me you just described.

Out of the 22 topics you’ve created, 2 are locked.

One for reposting and discussion of moderator action in locking a thread pertaining to potential exploitation of the game, and another for calling for the shaming of players for purchasing store items. Moderator reasoning was plainly stated in the first case and overt as to why in the second as the reasons they were closed.

No need to exaggerate your experience, it’s publicly verifiably not the case, incredibly disingenuous, and influentially predatory.

And to continue what @Trand0 already provided, the two threads locked, both of which aren’t productive in any way in my opinion, it was two different moderators.

If you’re refering to posts you’ve created that were flagged and minimized, plenty of your posts haven’t been moderated, those that have are very harsh words on moderators, and the actions they take, as well as directly non-constructive stuff as well as flaming.

You’re not getting moderated by a moderator with a personal vendetta against you because of some difference in opinions, you’re getting moderated because you don’t adhere to the rules, and misbehave.

Stop. Full on stop. You know whats going on. We may disagree on things but you are not dumb. I know you are well aware of whats happening

I won’t go into details. A certain individual does let their political, and own set of morals dictate their policing. Sometimes, it’s extremely biased. I’ve seen their Twitter and it’s as expected.

I don’t have any issues with any other admin or monitor. When I deserve a lock/mute I deserve it majority of the time if I get a bit personal.

Problem I have is the stalk like behavior and just willy nilly deleting/locking/temping because they don’t agree.

I brought up this issue before… It didn’t go anywhere. It’s all buddy buddy. No policing if their own.

Cassette let the individual speak for themselves if they feel the need to defend their statement. Or at least follow up on my own/Naqser’s observations before automatically assuming I’m wrong or out of line.

When someone makes blatantly and easily verifiably untrue statements to provoke confirmation bias discord they should be called out on them. Naqser followed up on other important observations as well, their hidden replies are most likely a result of auto moderation tools that kick in from users flagging their posts, not direct moderator involvement. The two (of 22 total, 20 completely open and unlocked topics) are examples that fly directly in the face of their statement.

I’ve wondered this before as well and went searching. The mods do a pretty good job, and I certainly don’t envy them. However, there are a few topics (one in particular) that are routinely closed when the thread is not violating any community guidelines. It just seems like the topic has been unofficially blacklisted, and we’re not allowed to discuss, full stop.
