I had played Halo TMMC on Steam once before. Worked perfect, adored the experience. Went to start it up yesterday and got the following error.
Unknown File Version (G:\steam 1tb\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo1.dll
So I tried to verify the files. Verified twice perfectly fine. Tried to start HTMMC, Nope, errored.
Uninstalled it. Redownloaded it again overnight. Attempted to start HTMMC today, and the same error.
I’m at a loss.
It is possible that uninstalling left a corrupted file that wasn’t replaced by the fresh install. You could try deleting the file mentioned in the error before verifying game files.
If that doesn’t work you could also try uninstalling again, manually deleting any files left in the MCC folder then reinstalling again.
It was erroring… BEFORE I uninstalled and reinstalled it. The error popping up, before all that is why I verified it twice, and it claimed everything was fine and nothing needed to be regrabbed.
