So I bought MCC today after finally having enough money on my Microsoft account for it. Well, after waiting around 5 hours for it to download, I am excited to launch it and play some of my favorite games. Well, it keeps getting caught in the pre-launch loading screen where it shows the game’s main art. It then says something along the lines of “An error occurred during the system update.” I try again to no success. I then go ahead and attempt a system update using a USB drive. The update finishes, I attempt to launch the game and I get the same error. Any help would be amazing to hear.
I had something similar happen to me only I received no error message, to fix my issue I had to go into the “Manage Game” section and uninstall Halo 3 ODST from my harddrive as I had the game physical before just recently buying it digital, And that fixed it. I don’t know if you owned the MCC prior but if that isn’t something that will work, you may have to uninstall the game and reinstall it.

That’s ridiculous! It shouldn’t install Halo 3 ODST if you don’t have it. I’m not sure that will solve the problem because the game isn’t even launchable. I think most people didn’t have this problem because they just updated their game instead of installing it for the first time.

I had the game in disc form before I re bought it digital, I never deleted the original data I had from my physical copy so it still had ODST as a addon to that data. I am not 100 percent sure what happened, but I know once I deleted ODST, my game worked, and this is after, hard resting, soft resting my xbox as well as the game.
