Error Signing In

I’ve consistently received the error…

“Xbox is not currently available or there is a network issue. Verify the computer time is set correctly or try again later.”

I’ve been at this for hours and I can successfully log into Xbox.com and such Microsoft sign-in sights.
I have internet connection and even forwarded my ports as well as I could see.
I can play xbox online with no issue.
The system clock is correct and region correct.

Is there some way to verify what account it is using to log-in and that it’s attempting to log in the correct account?

To me, this shouldn’t be an issue since I see it in the Metro menu and purchased it successfully.

welcome to the error signing in club  i have same issue

I assumed this issue would be fixed by morning and still no luck. Does anyone know any more methods of fixes?

I’ve spent hours uninstalling and reinstalling as suggested, to no avail… Still having the error that I can’t log in. Is there any ETA for a fix?

Hi, x milarepa x. We’re tracking this issue and working with a few different teams to nail down the root cause. Apologies for the inconvenience, and we’ll provide an update before or on Monday with our progress.

Thank you BS Angel for the update

We’re investigating this issue and would appreciate additional information to help us nail down what exactly is going on. For those of you having trouble signing in, could you provide the following, please?

  • Gamertag
  • Platform
  • Region

•Gamertag x milarepa x

•Platform. Htc 8x

•Region UK

-StewArt of War
-Windows 8 PC (64-bit)
-United States

*I’ve gotten it working on one of my 3 Win8 devices. On the other two it doesn’t get past the title screen.

Gamertag : Phantom117
Platform : Windows 8 Pc (64bit)
Region : US (Nebraska)

I can sign in but I can’t buy any credits? I get the error “The upgrade service is unavailable. Please check your internet connection and try again later” but on the main screen it shows my Xbox live gamertag and status: Online.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I’m too scared to uninstall the game in case I have to start from the first level again.

HTC 8X potential fix

This might only be for the UK gamers as that’s my location, but I just reset the time on my mobile to manual instead of leaving on automatic and it has just fixed it for me to actually play the game. Maybe it will work on other platforms aswell

Happy gaming everyone

BS Angel do I win a prize x

Thanks for the additional information. I’ve passed the posted details on to our dev team. If anybody else is experiencing this issue, please continue providing the relevant details in this thread. Thanks, all.

Thank you for addressing the issue.

I’m sure I don’t know what the system is like but my guess would be possibly a mismatch between what my system is trying to sign in as and my registered gamertag in some manner.

While messing around with different fixes I changed my email address. This is since at some point (I lost where) a microsoft login denied the existence of my initial email alias (rockphantom17@yahoo.com)
I’ve used this alias to login before on mostly everything before with no issues and I no longer actively use this email so I switched the primary alias.

My old email was rockphantom17@yahoo.com and new one is nwsd76@mst.edu. I am able to login to my alias on the Windows 8 machine and xbox.com and such before and after I switched emails.

I created a new alternate Microsoft login account rockphantom17@yahoo.com (old email alias) since I had switched the purchasing account to to the new email alias (nwsd76@mst.edu) After doing so, I remember a new dialog that I had initially gotten when first attempting to sign on. But it still failed. I have since linked the accounts in a further attempt to solve the issue.

I just recently got a confirmation email about my purchase of this game to nwsd76@mst.edu. Hopefully this issue can be resolved otherwise I do feel ripped off since I can’t play it.

I say all this since I’m an application developer and that’s my first initial thought. It may not be right, may lead you in the wrong direction.

However, when debugging the issue - the more information about the circumstances of the error often leads to greater success.

Update 7/28/2013

ALCON:

I was able to resolve the sign in issue by:

1.) Creating a local Win8 account
2.) From the local account, signing into the Windows Store with my Microsoft account
3.) Downloading the app to my local account

Starting the HSA app then does not attempt auto-login. It prompts for your Microsoft account to sign in. After sign in the main menu appears and the game can be played! You can see your XBL Gamertag in the upper right corner letting you know your logged in and connected.

After logging out of the local account, and logging into Win8 with my Microsoft account, I launched the app and auto-login was successful. The game can now be played from either account.

So the issue seems to be with the auto-login that the app attempts at first startup.

Original issue described below.

GT: ZonaryHen9741
PF: Windows 8(64-bit)
RG: USA

Attempting to run HSA on MS Surface Pro 128GB.

Download successful. App loads fine and music starts playing. After developer credits the screen shows “Connecting…” briefly, then a dialog box pops up with the following error message:

“Sorry we can’t sign you in. Try signing in at Xbox.com, then start the app again”

Two option boxes are available:

“Continue” and “Abort”

Clicking “Continue” launches an IE browser window directly to Xbox.com. Signing in at Xbox.com and starting the app again does not work.

Clicking “Abort” brings up the sign in dialog box. Clicking “Sign In” displays the original error message over again.

After a few iterations, there is still no way forward, so the only thing to do is close the app.

I do not have the multiple account/alias issue that some others have run into. I use my Microsoft account to log in to Win8 , and that same account is linked to the Windows App Store, Xbox Live, and Halo Waypoint. The Xbox SmartGlass App works perfectly to interface with my Xbox, and that app requires signing in on the same linked (Xbox Live to Microsoft) account.

I don’t think the issue is with my system. To check, I tried a few basic things. I synched app licenses, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, disabled anti-virus/firewall software (even though it was not blocking any connections), and also cleaned the Registry and IE Browsing History. I’m not sure how to proceed at this point, but I really want to play the game. It looks awesome!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
