Error code when trying to download forge on pc

I’m getting this error code The error code is 0X00000005, in case you need it. when i click the link to download forge on pc from the halowaypoint anvils legacy post i looked it up on google and tried what it said its still doing it. i went into windows store and searched for it and its telling me not available is anyone else having this problem and if so was you able to fix it cause i sure cant unless i’m overlooking something any help is welcome thanks.

I had the same issue, I haven’t had the chance to try it yet since I’m not on my home computer, but have you checked to see if you have the latest Windows 10 update? You might need the latest update to download it.

Same deal here. Can’t download the stand alone app either. I’ll check the win. store in a few hours to see if it’s up…

There’s an error on console as well. Only one page of stuff loads up.

Make sure that you have the Windows 10 Anniversary update installed: Windows 10 update history
I personally haven’t confirmed whether it will fix the issue or not, but I know others have said this is the fix.

Try downloading the Halo App that just launched, The official Halo twitter page released a tweet saying that the new Halo app is the best way to download anything Halo. This is basically them addressing the issue and trying to help people get Forge. Go to their twitter and find the link.

Anyone still having problems it worked for me by downloading the app from here Get Halo 5: Forge Bundle - Microsoft Store

I think I have a fix (Not 100% confirming this)
You will need to do two things.
Step 1;
Download Windows 10 Anniversary update from this link: Windows 10 update history

Step 2: Manage the Halo Forge download to go to the same storage device that your OS is installed on.

I am trying this myself now and so far its installing like a dream. Hope this helps.

kitarachi is 100% right, you will need the windows 10 upgrade, and you need download/install Halo 5 forge onto the SAME drive as the O/S, the windoze10 update take about 1 hour to complete, Halo forge will take about 5 days! You will need to free up at least 36 GB for the Halo Forge app.

I had this error code…

Error code 0x80070005 is also known as “ACCESS DENIED.” It usually occurs when you lack file or registry permissions that are required to install the update. (Because file or registry permissions may be changed by malware, we recommend that you scan for malware after you repair the permissions.) I didn’t have enough space after the download to install and tried to change the instalation drive to onw without the new windoze 10 o/s. Freeing up some space on my other drive fixed stuff.

There are also some details on the Xbox support page that can help when receiving certain error messages: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-titles/halo-5-forge-windows-10-help

i was trying to download halo 5 forge for pc today but it says this app has ben removed

Thing is I’ve been trying to get the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, but it isn’t allowing me to use it. I download the setup-thing, it opens Windows 10 Update Assistant with “This page cannot be displayed” saying something about scripts. And so Halo/Forge don’t appear as something to be downloaded. Anyone else had this issue?

Can confirm, You need to download the Windows 10 Anniversary from the Microsoft website.

I already have the W10 - AU but i can’t download Halo Forge

Yeah I’m getting the same error, downloading the Win 10 Anniversary Update… that should help.

ok and what if i dont want that cancerous update that breaks everything?

The Windows Anniversary update is required in order to use Forge on Windows 10. If you don’t want to install it, you’re not going to be able to play.

That honestly pisses me off, I have two drives because I have one specifically for games.

I hate it when I have to jump through hoops to install something. I’ve lost my patience.

Error code 0x80070490,
I could not install Forge after HDD failure and swap to new HDD.
Found the link below which worked for me.
Forge now installs on the new HDD.

" When you switch the default APP installation drive the APPX Manager not only saves the drive letter but it also saves it’s volume ID. So if you switch out your drive for another, you will get the error because it has a different volume ID.
Now to solve this problem, we have to go to the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\PackageVolumes\x
where x is a number from 1-n.
You have to take a look inside and look for a reference to the hdds drive letter. Then you just delete the numbered folder and restart.
VOILA, you can now install things again on your drive."
