Equipment/powerups that only vehicles can use?

imagine, you park in a contested spot and some machine upgrades your vehicle with a cool new model. Or we select the models we want at the start of the match and these machines power them up.

This really isn’t that bad of an idea… I think that you might be on to something.

Good idea, the vehicle are too weak in this game !
It’s could be cool to have some equipement on the map to pick up for your vehicle :

Power up : shield for vehicle
Grapple protection : protection against grapple
Advanced vision : every ennemi with grapple or heavy weapon are indicated on the HUD

They just could make the maps and vehicles not suck. I don’t understand how we went from Halo 5 to this…

Maybe a repair bay that fixes you vehicle. The bay can be destroyed however.

its a good idea and if it can be use also in the campaign mode then its more better.
and i think this power up is also good if its done good and make it not to good.
reduce damage: works the same same as a damage power up but for vehicles you get then what less damage from the hit that normal destroy’s the vehicle.

this idea has 1 big problem for the multiplayer mode.
you most remake all the maps again that means all the maps we have now most be remake again to add something like that so its not going to help for the maps there are now for the matchmaking and its a lot off works with a big risk you can make then

this is only a good idea for the campaign mode and not the matchmaking mode.
for the matchmaking mode its better to have a repair power up that span the same way like the grenate’s in the matchmaking mode
since if you wane use a building you most remake all the maps we have now also and it can become a big mess and a lot off work to remake all the maps with a repair bay building.

i think it should be something like mario kart abilities, something you fire at other vehicles rather than spartans so that it affects the flow of vehicle combat bbut not spartan combat as it would be easy to affect people on foot.

This is a great idea. Another fun and exciting way to enhance the mobility factor in Infinite. I’ve found that way too often I get grappled while in my vehicle. A defense against that would be wonderful.

I don’t think anyone knows how this happened. Plus, the lack of vehicles is very frustrating.

What about a bubble shield that goes around the vehicle?

I think it would be too much protection for a vehicle

they tried to balance them so that matches werent one sided which they succeeded but forgot the whole point of vehicle gameplay. the vehicles are the star of the show, not the spartans

the problem is, classic btb was also flawed but stilled worked. infinites fast spartan mobility and increased player count increased those flaws where suddenly it doesnt work well anymore. The more skilled team now can steal all the vehicles and become too powerful if the vehicles were still strong.

the easy solution is to create limitations on stealing vehicles, not making vehicles almost useless.

Exactly, nobody should be able to steal a vehicle in the ennemi base. And even more logical, a vehicle shouldn’t appear in a base if the ennemy is already here !
It could be cool to have garage who protect the vehicle in a base and prevent ennemi to get in !

It doesn’t have to be something every map has. Heck, it could just be a single map gimmick, like the laser on Breaker. Or introduced as a Forge item (scripting could even make this possible…) I think the current selection of maps are fine and new ideas should just be applied to new maps rather than cannibalizing old maps.

I don’t know if having them function like a grenade is the best idea. Imagine fighting a wasp or Scorpion. You get to low health then the driver just hits a button and BOOM! they have full health again.

Are you familiar with Titanfall 2’s battery system? Maybe something like that could work?

As for the repair bay being a building, it doesn’t HAVE to be it could be some or of pad you park on and then you wait to get healed (like a pit stop). Or the it could even be a repair tool that you pick up and it replaces one of your weapon slots.

There’s a lot of ways this could be done. I do agree that this would be much easier to implement into campaign and any other PvE modes in the future.

How bout with the panels of the the drop shield and only shield the driver passenger and turret.

i mean more like the grenate pad’s or the vehicles pad.
same with equipment we have now also have spawn pad’s so place some repear power up’s from the spawn pad’s
for the wasp and the banshee there can use the higher up place’s to have also some repear power up spawn pad since there are for sure high building’s or rocks that are good for then.

for the scorpion is the same as the warthog or ghost on the ground more on the road more.

never play titanfall 2.
but i think this not going to work at all for the halo game’s.
since it looks more the same then as the COD kill streaks more like the AC130 then.
and to chance the scorpoin tank to a time limit vehicle is not going to work at all and you only get more hate about it also.

then i think a repair pad’s are the best way to place 1 for the ground vehicles and one for the sky vehicles at the home base but then it most have also 1 min cooldown after it been use be somebody that only 1 player each time can use it.

for the campaign you need it only for the banished vehicles since you can call in a new one like with the UNSC vehicles you can easy replace the broken one with a new one at the FOB base’s.

for the PVE mode’s i give no comment for it since i wane know first if there is a PVE mode comming like a new firefight game mode.

Oh, ok. I miss understood you.

I should’ve elaborated. In TF2, in order to repair your titan, you have to insert a battery. To do this, you have leave your titan, grab the battery and get back in. Allies can repair your titan as well by jumping on the back and inserting it, but it takes a few seconds and they could be killed while doing it. Also batteries can be stolen from other enemy titans.

Basically I’m suggesting using the hijack system as a way to repair vehicles (specifically heavy vehicles).

Yep, a cooldown is an absolute must. I’d honestly make it a longer cooldown. Any decent driver can last longer than a minute. Or maybe the cooldown is longer or shorter depending on what vehicle uses it. For instance, a mongoose isn’t worth the same repair cost as a wasp. Ya feel me?

Agreed.

Love the idea! Like shields in Star Wars.

but titenfal the serie’s is more like a other version of COD more.
so the titan’s there are more the heavy kill streaks from cod like the AC130 or chopper gunner kill streaks from cod.
halo is compleet diffrend in that setting.

i bet for sure if you suggest that the Wasp,Banshee,Scopion tank and the wraith vehicles become a time limet vehicle with a power battery you can refill with a new battery you piss off a lot off people and then you piss off for sure all the old school players with that idea.

i think that only usefull vehicles only can use the repair pad’s and not the useless one’s more.
the vehicles like the mongoose and razerback are more dummy vehicle’s in the halo serie’s.
since people only use then to move fast to the power weapon in the middle off the map more.
for game type’s like CTF i can understand good there are more good usefull but for a slayer game type there are more dummy vehicle’s to move from point A your base to point B to a power weapon place.
to waste there a repair pad for then is compleet useless in some game type’s.

i think all repair pad’s most work the same for all the ground vehicle’s.
that if you drive on the pad your vehicle is automatic repair to its max again.
since you know that the scorpoin tank and wraith are slower then the warthog and ghost.
and that the cooldown from the repair pad most become 1 full min is all long in a match.
not forget that you most have a good belance in it.
that something like that not become’s to power full in a match.
and for the banshee and wasp repair pad’s is it only 30 sec’s longer cooldown then the ground vehicle’s have.

I’m not suggesting kill streaks at all, nor have I. Yes, in titanfall acquiring Titans and sometimes batteries is achieved through kill streaks. But I’m just suggesting a battery (or any sort of healing item) is placed on the map, players can pick it up and bring it to a damaged vehicle and heal it. Getting vehicles is the same as it’s always been, they spawn on the map and respawn after a time.

That’s up to the players to decide what vehicles are good to repair and which aren’t.
