Some people argue that Armor Abilities break halo’s simplistic combat formula that existed in Halo ce-Halo 3,
And that more powerful, one-use, pick-up versions of AAs like halo 3’s “equipment” are much better
Some people argue that Armor Abilities revolutionize Halo Multiplayer, making it more fun,
And that equipment sucks because then you can’t have the ability to fly or become invisible without finding the equipments location and winning the battle over it
Please vote! For the good of halo 5
Wheres the poll or are your making one? Also the larger text wasnt needed.
Edit: theres the poll =]
I think AAs should be map pickups in the Classic playlist. So like Equipment, but reusable until you die. For the Infinity playlist, we should be able to select AAs in our loadout, so long as they’re balanced. This is all assuming that 343 actually adds 2 separate playlists.
Can I ask why you prefer Armor Abilities?
I personally prefer equipment, because I think that giving players Armor Abilities make the gameplay more confusing and less tactical. Also having a jetpack equipment (for example) would make the jet pack ability much more special and less overused, but also more fun to use because if you beat your opponents to it you would be earning you and your team an advantage by being the only person who can fly and reach different areas of the map easier.
I liked in halo 3 how powerful the bubble shield was (if you were able to acquire it), and how the active camo powerup was really cool to have because everyone raced for it and once you got it you were more powerful then you would be from the camo AA. In a way I feel like armor abilities dumbed down halo a little bit because they made things like cover and level design less significant because you can just fly over it using the jetpack, hide using camo, or use sprint to run away.
Just my opinion. I made this post because I think Armor Abilities were the biggest change ever for Halo multiplayer, and I’m not sure they are the right choice

Well, I do like both. Because equipment is one-use, it allows for more dynamic ones like the Power Drainer or Radar Jammer. Plus it encourages players to be tactical in its use and not just spam it.
But I think Armor Abilities add a new level of strategy. 9 times out of 10, whoever shoots first will get the kill. But if your opponent suddenly thruster packs away or puts a shield in front of himself/herself, it changes up the fight. And since everyone has armor abilities, you have to really think about what you’re doing and what your opponent might do.
But overall, I wouldnt mind if AAs were to be retired. Perhaps there could be equipment for Classic and AAs for Infinity.

That’s a good point, but it only applies to 1 on 1 fights that take place out in the open where there’s no cover. When there are 4-8 people in a firefight, everyone using armor abilities just creates a mess.

Also a good point. Like I said I wouldn’t mind one way or the other. As long as they don’t break gameplay, I’ll accept either one.
I’d prefer AAs because once you choose an AA, you get used to it and special techniques associated with it. It gives multiplayer teams more role-oriented gameplay(if the team is into that)

That’s kinda how Halo works…
I say we need both.
Make armor abilities that aren’t terribly game changing and then make powerful equipment for people to use (active camo, overshield, powerful turrets)
Then make it so ordnance gives you low-tier power weapons like Concussion Rifles or the SAW(pre update) and make it so people can fight over power weapons.
Mixing old and new can’t be that bad, right?
I have to go with equipment.
There’s no amount of tuning or refining that 343 can do that’ll make me think AA’s are a good concept for the Halo series.
I prefer AA’s but Jetpack and Camo are broken, the HLS, TP, PV, Hologram, Autosentry and Regen Field aren’t OP
