Equipment new editions

So from the flight’s and this so called " Beta " we’ve all had enough time now to see how the sandbox works with equipment. To rank the best to worst IMO

  1. Grapple hook
  2. Repulsor
  3. Thrusters
  4. Threat senor
  5. Drop wall

I left out overshield and camo because there more like power drops than equipment because everyone would drop what ever equipment they have to use these and then pick back up the grapple i.e.

With these new equipments I can honestly say its quite obvious which ones are doing well and the others that seem pointless. Everyone loves the Grapple hook and the Repulsor and how they act in the sandbox. I’m glad that halo 5’s thrusters has a set limit and I think this works well. The treat senor and the drop wall are with out doubt not useful in anyway.

“I mean sure there have been chances were people have used them affectively but no one is going out of there way to get them”.

My thoughts are, is there room to put in more equipment or replace the ones we don’t use as much??

I wanna remind you of Halo Reach and the camo spartan ability. It was a combination of halo 3’s equipment active camo and radar jam. This was a great way to play around in the sandbox. I would also like more team based neutral equipment i.e. bubble shield, grav lift, land mine.

I have thought of combining old equipment and abilities from previous games and make new ideas for equipment and im sure I’m not alone.

So with that in mind what would you like to see make a return in halo infinite or what new equipment idea you thought off.

I think people are beginning to use the threat sensor more… particularly in Fiesta. Part of that is probably spawning with it so you may as well throw one out… but I’ve had a few people shoot a threat sensor through a window and immediately follow up with 'nades or rocket splash if they get a ping.

The drop wall comes in handy for taking a peak around a corner. And I’ve seen people throw it out to close down sight lines while they snipe at someone. I’ve used it a couple of times in odd ball to stand in a better position for views / escape options.

Yep I’ve done the same. I’m quite proud of myself for putting down a drop wall and blocked the cinder shot in a fiesta game. Im not saying we should remove them, but is there room for anymore?

Threat sensor has actually been immensely helpful for getting me my fiesta killing sprees. Being able to not only see where/how many enemies are in the next room, but what weapons they have equipped is pretty clutch for prioritizing your targets before charging in.

Yep again I’ve done the same. I did have an idea of the treat sensor having an Alt firing mode and combining it with the halo 4 drone. So for example.
1st
firing mode would send out the threat sensor we all know.

2nd
Would be an Alt mode that would shoot out a drone from halo 4 that would follow you around and give you support fire while also marking enemy on the map just like the ping system does.

Obviously this would need a lot of work but with halo infinite really getting into the roots of halo I’m glad they worked hard on AlT firing modes and I would like to see old equipment make a return. I know it would be cool down the line of the game.

The threat sensor is a beast when you use it in combo with a sword hammer or to a lesser degree, bulldog or mauler. Just place it around the corner and wait for someone to follow in to your trap. You can place it on teammates. And if your talking on mics you can jiggle into a room and jiggle out giving away the enemies position. As they give chase you can get a clear idea how to ambush

I think the drop wall is misunderstood. It’s not the bubble shield. It’s not designed to be dropped when you get into trouble. You pre deploy it like inside a stronghold. Or as you are approaching the enemy flag. Drop it in place so when you take the flag it’s in position to cover your back and absorb shots as you traverse your pre determined escape route. On streets a good place to have it is on the balcony where the stalker spawns and lay waist to anyone out in the open.

Now for equipment I’d add down the road. I’d bring back the radar jammer but have it not affected allied radar. I’d also have a radar equipment for ranked games that dont use radar and treat it like a power up.

A reflex power up that speeds reload times and halves weapon blooms and slightly speeds shield recharge.

Caltrops that drop behind you as you are trying to escape.

The portable gravity lift from halo 3 need to return as well. If for any reason than for custom forge games

Thanks for you feedback. Is there any equipment you’d like to see return or even revamped for halo infinite down the line?

I added it into an edit on my original comment

Cheers man. Great points I’d love the grav lift back too. I dont have a problem with the threat sensor or drop wall other than they don’t seem to blend in well with the sandbox. So for example people would like the drop wall to be buffed this is kinda way to quick fix something with Duct tape and im sure down the line people would want it to be nerffed because too many people would just hide behind it and it would slow down gameplay.

So if I was to revamp the drop wall I would try to have it blend well into the sandbox. I would have it last for a little bit longer and the trade off being it would take a little bit more to deploy. It would reflect all Plasma, Electric and Promethean weapons. So if anyone would be in a close range in front of the drop wall these type of weapons would bounce back in that area and would be damaged. This would be so fun in the sandbox.
Kinetic weapons such as the UNSC and Banished weapons would pierce the wall like it does now. This revamped version of the drop wall would work great in the sandbox because it would be strong in some cases but it can be easily counterd too.

I would have the shock weapons unable to penetrate the drop wall. And a dynamo grenade drop near it recharge the batteries and reguvinate missing panels. But that’s me lol

That’s an awesome idea. Haven’t seen that one yet.

I primarily use the drop wall, idk why

Hologram:
Creates a copy of your Spartan to be sent to a point in front of you. Can clamber and shoot at enemy players to reach a destination. Can tea-bag enemy player’s corpses like Halo 4.

Bubble Shield:
Drops the Halo 3 styled device that generates a field of protection. Activation takes longer than the Drop Wall, can be shot down like in Halo Reach, doesn’t heal players.

Regen Field:
Generates a green light around players within its field, how Overshield is white. Does not grant damage resistance to shields but health, can be headshot within.

Auto Sentry:
Hovers around the player to fire weak Sentinel Beam projectiles. Not stationary and useless in multiplayer like before. Remains easy to take out.

Jump Pack:
A vertical thrust pack. Same use as a Repulsor to the floor, cannot repulse rockets. Acts more of a quick double jump.

Trip Mine:
The EBP Trip Mine (Explosive Brute Pancake), now has additional spikes within the explosion. Cannot be detonated by friendlies for blind betrayals, that stays in '07.
