Should equipment from H3 return for H5 over armor abilities?
Had an idea that equipment should make a comeback as a map pickup that you can use once.
-
Bubble Shield (from the starry night trailer, not as long lasting as the H3 version)
-
Camo (pick up and hold camo to use one time when your ready)
-
Hologram (change hologram to at least 2 extra spartans that run with you for a short period when used)
-
Promethean Teleport (Promethean like teleport for a short distance for escape)
Good idea or bad idea?
Any more ideas?
I think the hologram should be upgraded to fire towards where you are shooting obviously do no damage, but it’s some times obvious that it might be a hologram if the person who is using it is also using an uncommon starter weapon and it’s not firing.
The Promethean blade would be cool, but I’m not sure how it could differ from the covenant sword. A cool idea might be that it has a slightly longer range you can only attack with it as you have changed to it so the change it self is the attack a bit like in the campaign. So it’s pace of attack would be slow you’d have to change back to your other weapon before attacking again.
I think the sword should return to being visible in camo I remember some times seeing a sword thinking it was free to pick up turned out it was already calmed.
I don’t think there is a problem with camo it’s just different armor abilities do better on different maps.
The noise of the shield regenerator is annoying though when every one is using it. I often have to mute the game till the match is over.
haha great stuff, I agree with the hologram firing towards wherever you shoot for a more realistic effect. A Promethean blade would be crazy too, it could give you that warp lunge that the knights use, of course not as far though.
I agree with the energy sword too, also think the mechanics should change like different swings or different lunges.
I think Hologram should stay as a armour ability. In 4 its actually perfect. I also think they should bring back flair and energy drain.
No. AA’s are a great addition to the Halo MP arena and should stay. AA’s are the natural evolution to the dreadful equipment system.
Why don’t armor abilities stay, and have equipment. You would be able to spawn with your AA but when you pick up equipment, the use of your AA would be prohibited.

So you can use both at the same time? That would be sick.

Sick indeed, it would definitely offer some interesting gameplay. Balancing AA’s and equipment with classic halo style.
Bad idea, Bungie abandoned AA for a reason.

When did that happen?

With this, I wonder how high you could get with gravlift and jet pack.

Well new equipment would be awesome. It’s a new game so new equipment would be great. Also you wouldn’t be able to use them at the same time, one would fill the role of the other.

O , well aslong as camo is equipment, I’m fine with that.

That’s just gonna double the chaos we have now, and make the game even more unpredictable …
I think that if equipment returned, the bubble shield should stay as it is. When people crowded inside, it was hilarious to see the effects of either stepping inside and throwing a spike nade, or, if those were not available, then drive a warthog or some other big vehicle through. The sprees’ you could get when that happened.
That said, having an AA and a piece of equipment would be good. Say i had a jetpack and an active camo pick-up. I could use my jetpack and keep the camo in storage till i was ready. I hide behind a rock, and activate it. Until it runs out, my jetpack is grayed out.
Could bring back map control, to a degree.

That’s not a bad thing as long as bad players stay bad. The equipment would be in set locations. All it does is sub out your armor ability for a one time use ability.
