Equipment should be reintroduced in Halo 5.
Equipment should have never left imo.
Don’t need them with Spartan abilities. They were awesome in H3 though

Spartan abilities are different. It would be nice to have trip mines, radar jammers, power drains, and so on back. Armor Abilities can be tweaked to be like Halo 3 equipment. Hardlight shield, jetpack, active camo, and more should have a battery that drains with use until it runs out and you drop it.
I forgot all about the power drains and stuff until I played some halo 3 in MCC. A well placed power drain could destroy a dumb team and just made one knowledgeable person even more of a god! I also loved having stuff on the map to go for instead of just calling down an ordinance when I got one.
I think people need to realize that everything we’ve seen and played so far is from the arena experience, the experience custom tailored to be competive. Equipment has no place in arena. Also keep in mind that characteristics of the “arena experience” are not necessarily generalizable to other “multiplayer experiences”. For example, loadouts and armor abilities may return in other experiences, I suppose they may reintroduce the option to make AA pick ups for certain gametypes, but I doubt they’ll add a fullfledged equipment system if they already have SA/ AA.

How do you define arena multiplayer? An even start, with battlefield pick ups to expand and improve your arsenal. How does equipment not fit in to this?
Equipment is a battlefield pickup, which gives you an extra weapon to use. Everyone had a chance to get it, making it completely fit in to the arena formula. Yes there are spartan abilities, but they don’t have anything like the bubble shield, radar jammer, power drain, or grav lift. These pick ups would 100% fit into arena multiplayer.
By your logic I could argue camo, over shield, and speed boost (Though the last one is newer) have no business in Halo as well.
