Equipment for Launch

I was rewatching the Halo Infinite early look from yesterday and noticed something odd. At 31.28 it looks like there could be one or maybe two additional equipment selections for launch. It shows Active Camo, Drop Wall, Grapple Shot, Overshield and the rest is hidden. We know repulser will be on the list however it seems like the scroll bar indicates there is a few more.

I am curious if you all feel the same way or if I am overanalyzing? Am I missing any?

Your not the only one. I am really excited to see if theres any new equipments. I’ve had a good few ideas on new equipment that are from older halo games combined. I made a topic about ALT firing modes a while back and wondered what if equipment had AlT modes too?

The drop bubble
H3 and infinite combined equipment.
This is a basic design. 1st alt mode when button is tapped would put down the drop wall. A weaker shiled with a balanced trade off, to be able to shoot through it from cover. This would be single player focused. 2nd alt mode when button is held down would put down the bubble shield. A stronger shield with a balanced trade off, that you could not shoot out or in and would be team based focused.

The Holoflare
H3 equipment and Reachs ability combined.
Both made out of light and one of my favourite ideas. 1st alt mode when button is tapped, would send out a stronger hologram that would walk. A small bit of trickery would be the hologram when it is in range of an enemy player would aim their weapon at them but in time keen eyed players could tell its a hologram. 2nd alt mode when button is held down, would send out a weaker hologram that would sprint. Until it reaches it destination or it has taken enough damage from shots it would then have a death animation mimicking a falling spartan and would then burst out into light just like the H3 flare.

This wouldn’t have a alt firing mode. It will be the same as halo infinite just tweaked a little. So you shoot it out and it will have a radius area on the map. For you and your teams perspective only, you would see if enemys would be inside with the full body outlines. From the enemys perspective entering the area would jam their radar just like in Halo 3 with extra red dots moving in the radar.

Just a few ideas ive had since ive been thinking about halo non stop now and im excited for launch. Understand none of these ideas of mine would be in any way overpowered and would be balanced for multiplayer. They would play out as they did back in the older games or like we saw in infinite. I think it would be a great way to bring back old game mechanics and revamp them for infinite.

Since the radar is changing I could really get behind a radar jamming equipment. Personally I think the drop shield was always broken. The balance with it was horrid however if it was bigger panels and one shot for each I could get behind it.

Man it’s kinda borked but the bubble shield is such a funny piece of equipment. I get the drop shield is supposed to be less intrusive, but it felt near useless in the previous flight. I know they’re tweaking it, interested to see how it is.

I hope there is more, or if not, more is introduced over time. It doesn’t have to be balanced on all maps, even if it is equipment that only exists for the purpose of one big team map for example I’m cool with it if it makes the game more fun and might find a good use in forge/custom games.

There has been rumours about the idea of thruster being in the game as equipment hasn’t there?

Yea the drop wall needs improvement. 343i said that they tweaked it for the next flight so hopefully with more players feeback maybe it will be ok or it will need some more tweaking so that its well balanced and doesn’t slow down the game flow.

I wonder how severe the thrust would be. I have a hard time believing it will be like Halo 5’s short thrust.

Hard to say, if it’s decent amount of uses and no cooldown you could potentially thrust multiple times for good distance, or use it in the same way as Halo 5 which is ideal to get a bit extra space to escape a gun fight or dodge a grenade at the last second.

I want to be able to use the repulser and thrusters together. That would be a trip if it is a large thrust. We can’t rule out a 360 degree thrust either. It could act like a jetpack sorta.

Since we’re talking ideas.
Could be cool with an alternate power drain that instead of draining shields it removes the enemies HUD, ammo counter, reticle etc.
As an extra detail it could also switch off the lights on the guns you’re holding and stuff like that.

Well they can -Yoink!- at least
