Trying to argue anything about Reach being balanced is laughable. That was almost the least balanced Halo title of the series (H4 ended up taking that cake).
I want Halo to move as far away from the direction of Reach as possible. That title started EVERY trend that killed off Halo’s population. Infinite barely has Reach features and already it’s too much (looking at you bloom).
I’d like to be clear I played a ton of Reach MP back in the day. It’s just aged so poorly overt the years compared to the other titles
While I strongly disagree with the idea of picking equipment to spawn with, I agree with your later point about single use. Repulsor and Grapple can be too impactful for them to be used multiple times imo. I think the option for number uses/unlimited uses should be given in custom games. Old equipment was impactful, but it affected both players. Grapple in the hands of a skilled enough player does too much. Being able to hold an OS is your back pocket is a bit much as well
And you can go play the games that give you the stuff at the start… they are still being played as well. Which by the I do play them, I played MCC most of the night last night and I am about to play more here in a little while to finish up the PvE challenges… I am waiting for hopefully another Tenrai event to play infinite since I didn’t get a chance to finish those challenges, I already finished the battle pass.
maybe thats what its missing, most of the equipment in Inf is focused around 1v1s and helping one player the only two that dont are the drop wall and sensor and they are literally the weakest in the list
tho it did have the best customization, story and MP maps we have gotten since bungie left, no I’d have rather gotten H2A 2.0 instead of this pathetic excuse for a free to play
that is a solid point. one of the things 343 has failed to grasp since taking over the franchise, is that halo doesn’t need gimmicky movement like thrust, clamber or sprint. just one camo on a map changes the entire game, but in Inf 343 have made it a toss up of what spawns on maps and it kind breaks what makes halo, halo.
Yea, that seems to be it. I don’t mind the addition of one-sided equipment, but they added it in a very powerful manner AND gave multiple uses. Too much imo. Invis and OS are taking up two slots and the only two equipment that affect multiple people are weak like you said. Wish they didn’t have to remove Regen and Power drain. Regen especially made for some interesting battles. Bubble shield even too, even if it was a bit too impactful, they could’ve just nerfed it.
Creating hyper-mobility has ruined this game. Get rid of all the equipment for all I care! If Halo continues to try to be like every other game, it will need annual releases to keep the p with the short attention spans of their base. Otherwise, they’ll just move onto the next “fresh “ shooter
