We all can agree that Spartan Ops Episode 2 was literally Episode 1, with 1 new mission (which was a part of the 2nd mission). Episode 3 better be something new when it comes to the missions.
I am going to play devil’s advocate here, but I prefer it that way right now.
These levels are coming out weekly, right? I would rather them recycle content to get them out quickly so that they can focus their time on something more important like the matchmaking options, custom variants, countless glitches, forge, or anything else that would actually keep the game going long after Spartan Ops ends.
Yes, would like new map designs for Spartan ops but there is still 8 weeks to go, you have not seen nothing yet (I hope!!!
> Episode 3 better be something new when it comes to the missions.
…Or what? How would you argue against “recycled” missions that you’re getting for free?
Im in it for the cutscenes.

Doubt they’re preoccupied making spartan ops at this moment. I think all the missions for this season is already done and locked on disc 2. Content is simply unlocked every week.
there not free, you payed $60 or $100 dollars for them. People really need to stop saying there free.

well no its not free, we paid for the game and the xbl gold subscription to play it. I dont have a problem with spartan ops im happy with it.
Episode 3 will have something more to do with the artifact brought up from Requiem I believe.
I think it’s funny how when people are given something for free, they are obligated to complain about it.
how about you try developing 50 individual maps that many people on this forum said are pointless and not worth replaying.

I personally think the story is more important.

No, it’s free. You paid for the game, and got the game - online or offline. Offline you still get what you paid for; the Campaign, Forge, and Custom Games. You buy XBL Gold to purchase access to Xbox LIVE content including Halo 4 War Games, not just Spartan Ops. Spartan Ops is a free addition to Halo 4 available to Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers, but is a free addition nonetheless.
Glad to hear you’re happy with Spartan Ops, though! Personally, I hope that it’s available to purchase for offline play somewhere down the line here. With winter setting in, internet is always an iffy thing in my town (don’t ask me how it happens, it just does.) It’d be great to keep playing Spartan Ops offline for when I don’t have internet access…

They’re free.
I’ve enjoyed the Spartan Ops so far… but I am in agreement that lets hope by Ep3, we see some newer maps.
Perhaps what they should have done this time around is have had 3 or 4 new maps this time, and in Ep3 recycle some we’ve seen. As it stands now, I think 2 of them (1 for sure) was just done in reverse for traversing the area.
I’m also hoping that they’ll connect a whole lot more to the story before each episode. The first one was a nice intro to the whole “we’re taking Requiem” and the missions involved. The second “TV show” spot seemed like a real nice set up… that kinda fell flat in the missions as you weren’t really dealing with anything that touched on what transpired.
> They’re free.
correct.
though i too would like some new stuff.
but i dont really care.

Are you in SOps just to fight? or for the story? Far as I’m concerned, the story is decent so far.

Just watched both the cutscenes today, and they were awesome. At the point I really didn’t care that they were recycled maps.

its about the story who cares if they reuse a level here or there?

Technically yeah… BUT… Technically no. You pay for the game and all of it’s contents. Spartan Ops is part of the package. Would you consider Firefight to be a free part of Reach if they released a single map one week at a time. If you consider it DLC then yes it’s free DLC but I consider it something that we paid for that is supposed to replace the large chunk of the game known as Firefight.
The problem is 343 liked to use the words new content each week when talking about Spops pre-release. It really isn’t new content so far… It is essentially rehashed campaign levels for 2 weeks in a row now. That is pretty underwhelming for this part of the game that was supposed to be this big game changer for Halo. I’m not saying I hate Spartan Ops. It’s just not nearly as good and as content filled as I was expecting. I really hope they start to introduce completely new locations and not just reuse campaign locations and make you run missions backwards.

I guess 6 months away from Requiem means the planet needs a makeover. Lets just add snow, maybe make it more ruble from the buildings being destroyed somehow…
