I think environments will be a very important aspect in the game.
In Reach environments in MP and Campaign were either Grey, Blue, or Rock.
In CE, 2, and 3 the most successful maps were: Zanzibar Standoff The Pit Valhala Lockout
Notice how all of those maps had mixed environments, they weren’t in the campaign?
Now I understand that Reach had a good few maps that were mixed environments (Mostly DLC) but Halo 4 must have all new maps. Point is, 343, don’t be afraid of color!

Yes, and i don’t want all maps too bright either when it comes to lightning. There should be some shadows here and there to let the light show and boost the atmosphere.

I agree with this.
Problem with Reach was the amount of Forge maps that were implemented into Matchmaking. This wouldn’t be an issue but the Forge colour palette was very…bland.
Halo 4 has a lot of potential to expand it’s colour scheme for every aspect of the game. It’s 1. an unknown planet and 2. a forerunner planet. Both give space for various environments and therefore a very favourable range in terms of map themes and colours.
