I know I know. This always happens at a Halo launch. The MCC forums were a bloodbath at launch and still are. But these whiners are now whining for the sake of whining. I understand that I am whining about other people whining, but I feel at this point, the whining and repeating of the same 343 hate is all but pointless now. Halo 5 is a better product than 343 has ever made. Who cares if the writing in the campaign wasn’t that good? At least it had great environments and great combat! The multiplayer whining is just nitpicking by now. There are three types of people who complain about the multiplayer. The first are the 343 haters that hate for no reason and just say the same thing, that 343 sucks and this isn’t “Halo”. And then the small type are the people that point out flaws respectfully, but those people seem lacking. Then there are the people that are exaggerating every little flaw and making it seem like the apocalypse of all of Halo. The first and third groups flood the forums at every launch. And they probably will when Halo 6 comes out too.
The Halo community is now known as a butch of drama queens and entitled children, despite there being at least a few level-headed and optimistic people left (a few). The incessant entitlement needs too stop. You trolls are not a bunch of special little snowflakes, and the Halo series is not doomed.
I know people think what I’m saying is flaming, but I’m just tired of all this negativity. Does anyone agree that this needs to end?
There are legitimate complaints about the game. Constructive criticism is not “whining”. One such legitimate complaint is with the aiming mechanics, i.e. dead zones, aim acceleration, and uncomfortable sensitivities. You may not have intended it, but the phrase “there are two types of people who complain” implies that there are no genuine points of criticism for the game, which is wrong. Is there a lot of blind hate? Yeah, of course there is, there always will be for every game ever made. Does that mean that ALL complaints against the game are blind hate? No, not at all.

Let me rephrase that. I do agree with what you are saying, it’s just that the pointless whining of things that are nothing extremely eclipse any rational criticisms that have been given.
You’re forgetting the 4th type, my type. The ones who hate it because every single -Yoink- unlock is RNG. And RNG is the worst thing you can put in a game.
People are “entitled” to complain, they spent a lot of good money on this game and its in a pretty sorry state at the moment. There are a lot of valid complaints floating around, sure there are some jerks being childish but the fact is this game has issues. Its fun, its a good start for sure but it needs help to be all that it can be. I mean if I pay for a sandwich and the guy at the counter tells me I need to wait two months for the meat and the rest of the toppings I’m going to have trouble enjoying it to its fullest.

I agree, it’s just that pointing such things out is a tad pointless at this point. The forums have always been this way for a long time now. All we can do is just sift through the blind hate threads that are more often than not locked, thanks to attentive moderators, and find good threads with solid complaints that provide rationale, and possible solutions.

So it is in a pretty sorry state but it’s good and fun? That seems contradictory.

I do agree that armor shouldn’t have been tied to drops. It removes the sense of accomplishment when you get it, as you’d get in previous games for completing tasks. Do a LASO playthrough and get an armor unlock? That’s something you could be proud of. I’m 770 Gamerscore in with only 13 achievements left, and so far the only thing I’m really proud of is finding every Skull.

If you look, they are all on reddit, not here. For the 1st and 3rd types flood the forums with a toxic environment and spam. Why 343I has been seen on the Halo Sub reddit for the past week and not here

It gets difficult though. I never know if I will find a good thread or a bad one. Sometimes a thread has a good title but a sucky post, and vice versa. It gets tiring with the hundreds of posts in minutes. I just want to discuss my favorite shooter with some rational and open-minded individuals. When it comes to forums, this is especially trashy at points compared to others.

Wow you’re right. The first things I saw in titles were “A suggestion to 343…”, “Thanks 343”, and “Please add”. I was pretty shocked to see that in a Halo forum. So I guess I might just move full-time to that forum instead of this one.

yea because the MCC launch was such a success,
oh yea, and halo 4 was so astounding that stil years later it retained such a high % of it’s population right?
FACT the TMCC was a disaster of such epic proportions that the head of -Yoinking!- XBOX publicly apologized for it.
halo 4 was such a massive failure that mere MONTHS after it’s release it lost 90% of it’s daily population.
it’s not entitlement to believe that a product you PAY for should be free of defects and flaws, to quote a very good movie.
"

Everyone needs to take a step back and realize that the world is full of diversity. Someone is going to have an opinion that differs from your own, and they’re going to voice it. You can react to this by getting mad and defending the “right opinion” (in your eyes) or take a step back and analyze the situation from the perspective they propose.
There is no right or wrong answer to the dilemma that the community currently faces. Someone will always be pissed off at the end result. The question is whether or not the decision made was the best for the sake of the community playing the game.

No, sir, there are more than two kinds of people sharing their distaste for the game and you -Yoink!- well know that. Do you honestly believe that throwing out labels or generalizations is going to solve the issue at hand? Do you honestly think that these people (whom you are labeling as irrational and/or stupid) are going to respond well to this sort of thing? At the end of the day what is it accomplishing? Is everyone going to suddenly flip a switch and behave the way you think is best?
These type of posts that psuedo-analyze the community aren’t helping it any. They’re only making matters worse.

The Halo community specifically? Have you been to other communities? This is the internet mate, it is the crown holder of poor behaviour. The sad par is it’s not just the internet, it’s humanity in general, you just don’t experience it as often in person. How many people do you think act entitled with sports, with work, with, well, anything really. I’ve seen people get mad at Taxi drivers for no reason other than not liking the seats of the vehicle. People are entitled, spoiled beings always expecting more from the world around them. That’s just the way things are. Singling waypoint out for being “filled with drama queens” is as redundant as singling out a puddle for containing water. There’s water everywhere.
> 2533274936032899;1:
> You trolls are not a bunch of special little snowflakes, and the Halo series is not doomed.
I reiterate: Do you honestly think that calling names is going to improve the situation at all? People are voicing their opinions the same as you are. Yes, they can be vague and reacitonary, but that doesn’t make them trolls. People have different opinions -Yoink!-, and whether or not you agree with them you need to respect that.
The Halo series being “doomed” depends entirely on ones interpretation of “doomed” and how it’s applicable to a series.
> 2533274936032899;1:
> I know people think what I’m saying is flaming, but I’m just tired of all this negativity.
And I’m tired of people acting like the internet police. People go on and on about how others complaining “aren’t constructive”, but you know what? Nobody on this forum is constructive. I could dive into any thread right now and pull out hundreds of posts from users making stupid, reactionary statements devoid of any reasoning or constructive attributes. They could be supporting Halo 5, they could be hating it. Regardless, very few people in this community actively post anything remotely reminiscent of “constructive.”
You’re singling out the negativity against Halo 5 because you like the game and disagree with them, but people who support Halo 5 are just as negative and just as lacking in all forms of respect for their fellow community members.
Now, rather than making posts about entitlement that attack people and do absolutely nothing to mend the community, how about sharing your own constructive thoughts on the subjects in question. The more people who make a concious effort to create a positive working space by example (rather than spreading their own negativity in an attempt to quell the negativity they’re already surrounded by) the better this place will be.

I’ve notices three things from this.
- You are being blinded by irrational anger.
- You are making crazy assumptions and fallacies based on nothing but your own speculation.
- You are exaggerating what is and has happened to make your argument seem more sane. It’s not working, because you thinking that Halo 4 was a disaster and that the MCC was as well is completely false. Halo 4 was far from a disaster. Its sales numbers were great and it’s campaign is almost always considered great. Not to mention the many loyal fans. The MCC had problems due to overambition and blindness to possibilities coupled with 4 games and a big corporation looking over the shoulder. But it sold well, and it had working parts. So it was not a disaster.

Actually no, its not contradictory I said its a good start, meaning what we have is decent but there’s not enough of it. A kid can have days of fun with a broken toy that’s missing an arm but that doesn’t mean the toy doesn’t have problems.

Now that makes sense. As with any game, it will take time to really become great. Even the old Halos had to take time to improve.

More assumptions and fallacies. I did not once say it was okay that the MCC was severely flawed. Not once did I praise 343. You are twisting my words into something for your benefit and making a fool of yourself in the process. You say I didn’t criticize the game? So saying that the MCC has problems is not criticizing it? I do not see how that is possible.
I get tired of people picking out the smaller complaints out of mountains of more important ones and saying anyone complaining is “entitled”.
People buy into the hype and try to justify their buyers remorse this way. Saying there is literally nothing wrong and the game is perfect.
