I can’t win. I’m finally getting close to finishing my silver packs. I have all but 6 uncommon reqs and 95 rares unlocked. Thats about 50 packs, which I can do in a week or two. But what are those 6 uncommons and 72 of the 95 rares? -Yoinking- emblems! And now there are going to be more of those useless skins and emblems to unlock with the next update. It’s going to be impossible to ever get out of silver pack hell if they keep stuffing these updates with more useless crap. You want to give us useful stuff like weapons and vehicles, abso-yoinking-lutely. I will gladly grind it out and work for those. But I dont need more pictures. It’s making it impossible for anyone without 6 hours a day to play to ever move on from silver to gold packs.

I feel the same way about some of this armor. Here is the same uncommon helmet you’ve unlocked 3 times, but with a little paint strip going down the side and a ding in the visor!
Just an FYI, most of the rare emblems are unlocks from commendation completions.
Yeah, they knew what they were doing there…same with the 3 or 4 types of the same armor and helmet but with a fantastic decal! It´s just filler to earn money. And players who don´t pay for it? Well, they don´t give a damn if it annoys them, it´s all good.
At least Reach allowed you to pick whatever you wanted, as long as you had the Credits for it. So no, 343, I don´t want 4 Aviator helmets…or you know, if you´re going to do that, at least put some cosmetic pieces to differentiate each armor piece/helmet instead of decals.
Two steps back compared to what Bungie did on almost every front.

FYI, there is only 20 uncommon emblem that are unlock via RE packs and 10 unlocked through leveling up or commendation. From the 125 rare emblem, 23 are unlocked via REQ packs, the other 101 is unlockable with commendation only and the missing one is by unlocking all common item through Bronze pack (this one is probably also unlocked through silver pack if you are not using the bronze to silver to gold pack method)
I don’t play overly much, and even went stretches without playing, but last night I finally hit the Silver ceiling. Once I gave up the notion that I could collect everything, it actually seemed to come to me faster. Keep grinding, man. Sell XP boosts for RP since your level doesn’t mean much, and you can level up quick enough anyway.
It IS frustrating to keep getting junk filler updates every time you start to get close, but just think of it as a speed bump.

Thanks, did not realize that. So does this mean I can max out the silver packs without getting all the emblems? Also, is there a list of which are unlockable through REQs?

This is the bigger sin
I am nearly finished with a complete list of Emblems and how to Unlock them (I’ll post it along with the relevant REQ calculations when it’s finished), but I’m still having issues comfirming a few Emblems/Commendations:
- Pivot (Rare)
- Platform (Rare)
- Screw (Rare)
One of those is rewarded for the Mongoose Destroyer Commendation. However, there are also three other Commendations that I can’t confirm an Emblem for:
- Spartan Slayer (I unlocked so early on that I can’t remember which Emblem)
- Smash (Same as Spartan Slayer)
- Flag Mastery (I know it’s an Ultra Rare, but since no one seems to have this Commendation I can’t confirm which Emblem)
The Prima list, which is what every Halo 5 Emblem list is sourced from, is almost completely accurate, but due to Prima’s absolutely abysmal proofreading department, several Commendations were ommitted and the formatting of the Unlock Requirements is inconsistent. Other Emblems are unlocked differently than the book says, but that’s down to pre-launch changes.
