This whole “I’m a true Halo fan” mentality needs to stop. It’s petty and it only serves to fracture the community more than it already has been. It’s ridiculous how much I see:
“I think the original trilogy is better than the more recent Halo games. Halo just doesn’t feel like Halo anymore. I’m a true Halo fan.”
“No, I’m a true Halo fan. I’ve read almost all the books, and understand that the changes to the gameplay mesh with the lore better.”
“I’m a true Halo fan because I stick with the series no matter what.”
“No, I’m a true Halo fan because I’m critical of it as it continues.”
Look, as long as you have played and enjoyed any of the following:
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo 3: ODST
Halo Reach
Halo 4
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Halo 5: Guardians
That makes you a Halo fan. Just a fan. Nothing more. Nothing less. You don’t earn extra “fan points” for anything. Can’t we just focus on repairing this community and on agreeing on some things for once? Like maybe, I dunno, that we love Halo?
