Enough "after launch", do "for launch"

I’ve had it with features that SHOULD be in the game coming “after launch”. Why can’t 343i do stuff FOR launch? I want us to earn XP from something other than challenges, I want to do proper customs and forge, I want to play co-op, and I want a good game AT launch. Come on, 343i. Please, for the love of Tartarus, don’t be silly with Infinite. At this point I wonder what maps and modes we have in multiplayer when the game goes live on December 8th. You have a great game loop here, 343i, and you keep taking steps back.

Edit:
So I guess my intent didn’t come across clearly enough.

I want to know what exactly we’re getting at launch because 343i takes one step forward and two steps back.

I know my disappointment will change nothing, but I just wanted to express my opinions on the matter like many have.

Similarly, this is likely going to be the first Halo game that I will be purchasing “after launch” rather than “at launch”. I’ll get the game when I feel like it is ready, rather than when 343/Microsoft wants my money.

INB4 “Who needs things at launch? Things at launch are optional. The game’s just fine without things at launch. I never cared bout things at launch. You’re entitled and just hate 343 for wanting there to be things at launch”.

Oh an “covid happened and stuff an therefore we should be all forgiving and 343 is entitled to our money”.

great job sounding like petulant child OP they have no plans to change for any of your wants.

they’ve given a roadmap and seem to plan on keeping to it and no amount of ranting or wishing on here will change their plan.

I’m personally like that they are taking their time in recent years there have been a lot of games that have released early or in a state riddled with bugs and issues. I like that they are trying focus on the features that are necessary for the game to be playable. They are trying not to deal with too much at the same time.

Ah, I missed this one.

They’re not working as hard and as fast as they can? I didn’t know that. They must be sittin’ around on MP all day.

You are certainly correct, and I don’t expect 343 to change course at this point regardless of any outcry. My take on OP’s message (though maybe not the intent) is what is coming at launch? Every update from 343 adds to the list of things that won’t be included at launch, some of which should probably be added to the never-to-be-included list (I’m picking up this vibe for dual wielding and playable Elites, but 343 is too scared to say never out loud). We still don’t have information on what is coming at launch other than a generic “campaign and multiplayer.”

I agree with this. Release the complete experience then build from there. I’m still really excited for the game though.

At least there’s something to look forward to.

So I guess my intent with this forum post didn’t come across well enough. I could have worded it better. I want to know what exactly we’re getting at launch because 343i takes one step forward and two steps back. We keep hearing what we will get after launch. What do we get AT launch?

To be honest, id rather find out now whats at and post launch now vs i think like a few days prior like we did 5.

And honeatly as long as i get a good campaign i dont mind ither stuff being added later whje theuve already stated long ago they plan to add new stuff i tk campaign over time anyway. As mm is free as well. Not the biggest fan if the progression buuuut

I can sort of understand why people are annoyed that features like forge aren’t coming at launch but that doesn’t mean they won’t be added in the future. They have stated that they are intending on changing and updating the game long after release which implies to me that they are testing the water to see what kinds of features are wanted, possible or worthwhile to add given the reason Halo 5 didn’t have forge at launch was because at the time forge wasn’t used by the majority of players and they didn’t consider it to worth adding but they added it as a seperate program because the fans begged them to add it to the game. So all in all 343 do consider the opinions of the fan base but there are limits to what they can do.

They have been awfully quiet on the campaign side and that worries me.

Either way I don’t pay for unfinished products Ill wait till its completed. Coop is a deal breaker for me.

As far as what you’re paying for, the campaign and any unlocks that might be tied to it.

Free content at launch will be the multiplayer, which will have split screen capability. No word on how many maps at launch, but we’ll probably get a better idea of that in the next flight that introduces BTB.

Well, I mean some of the games testers pretty much will be, but point taken none the less.

At least unlike other games the progression system only gives cosmetics and not weapons like other games I’ve played (and didn’t enjoy). Pay to look good is better than pay to win.

Can we stop beating this topic to death. Everytime I log into the forums…which I spend a vast amount of my day on…there is a post about someone demanding something from 343, criticizing the game price, and complaining about Co-Op. If you want to talk about these things, comment on the 100,000,000 (not literally) posts that have been made that have said the exact same thing as you.
