Enhance battlefield intensity with vehicles!

I ain’t talking about backround battles. I talking about the battles you take part in! Im tired of the “Okay you go solo the secret flank route and we do all the cool fighting stuff over here”. I also don’t want a mission to be just pure big Battlefield. But give us some variety during a phase of the mission? You gonna make us do a side major job, do it right. Doesn’t always have to be hoofing the small paths.

Example: Starting off in a swarm of Hornets in the sky to siege a Kraken. That can just be a phase of a mission.

Example 2: Using a Mammoth as a battering ram retreating leverage from following enemies… and actually fighting with it!

Example 3: Hijacking a Scarab and fighting off an enemy Scarab. I don’t even care about piloting it.

Probably me really into being hundreds of air off the ground and big mechs, but that stuff is what keeps the at least gameplay interesting. How many missions have we gone through just running through hallways, jungles, cities on foot to an objective with a taste of probably a warthog in between? You don’t see big battles often. And they gotta add more.

The campaign missions always felt nicely diversified in my opinion throughout the campaign. I’m sure Halo Infinite will have a nice variety since they keep hinting that the game will have a massive landscape.

If 343 can pull off an improvement in number of A.I. on screen like Halo 3>Reach, then yes please.

Reach always felt like this. You were never taking part in the battles, but providing support from tactical positions, which is well and good but the Warthog charge would have been waaaay better on Tip of the Spear if you were actually driving.

Reach did this fairly well with Tip of the Spear and Long Night of Solace. One involved a charge of Warthogs and the other involved a bunch of space planes. Though I would have loved to actually get to drive around during that charge in Tip of the Spear.

The elephant battles in Halo 3 Sandtrap were always good vehicle fun. Maybe another map and vehicle combination like that would be nice.

Im looking for elephant battles at an increased rate. Instead of having an empty sandbox with two vehicles, probably force the idea back in Halo Wars, mobile command center.

Though the Mammoth can probably replace the Elephant, I thought that its size was better for less of a marked target.

I agree I want more intense vehicle missions/segments. They did have them in H5 but they kinda fell flat for the most part in my opinion.

Vehicle batttles is probably the biggest piece of Halo sandbox design that 343 are still struggling with. Granted, Halo 5 showed that they were getting better at it (apart from that Kraken fight that gave me the worst possible type of Halo 2 flashbacks), so I’m hopeful Infinite will continue this upward trend.

If we can get better AI and better large scale battles, Halo: Infinite will be all but set to be the best playing Halo campaign ever made.

The Elephant dynamic in Sandtrap allowed for some truly interesting capture the flag and slayer matches. The Mammoth is better suited for campaign due to it’s closed hallways which would promote camping.
