But apparantly they were still left in the coding, people were able to spawn engineers(don’t ask me how).
If the above statement were true, would they still be in the coding for CEA? If so, theorecticly people will be able to spawn them in CEA. What would happen in the new graphics?

Probably not (since they probably removed any used work), and you’d need a(n) [insert you favorite word here(no details allowed)] for CEA mods since they’ve bumped up the security.
Also, any discussion of modding is against the forum rules (so no more details for me…)

We are not discussing how though, we are discussing what would happen. Would the game crash? Would it spawn the old engineers? Im being curious.

I have a feeling that if 343i did leave it in the game (which I doubt since they need all the space that they can get on the disc) that it would appear normal in Anniversary mode. I mean, why would they create a new model if no one could actually see it without mods?
Yea the codes there all right, but I think it’s just a model/animation I don’t think it has any programming kinda like Halo2’s Flood Juggernaut. Still be nice to find one of these guys as an Easter Egg.
If 343i didn’t touch the original gameplay code, then the Engineers should still be in the game somewhere. I’d imagine if you tried to spawn the Engineers in the updated graphics mode then they’d still retain there classic models.

You’re missing the point. 343i could have easily removed it from CEA since it was unused in CE.

That’s exactly what I said earlier if they do include them.

No I understand completely. I’m just saying that it would be nice to find one of these guys as an Easter Egg.

It would be, but I feel as if most EEs will just be hints as to what Halo 4 will be about (it seems rather unlikely.)
Engineers was in Halo CE, at lest the models and textures was, all of the coding to make them work, and act as AI, I didn’t see any thing for them last time I poked around the engine files for Halo PC.

343 wouldn’t include them anyways. They were really, REALLY strict on keeping this game the same as it was ten years ago. So that means the Engineer’s as an enemy won’t be showing up unless it’s an Easter Egg (though it have to be viewable only in Anniversary graphics), hypothetically speaking.

I understand how if somebody mods to give themselves an advantage in MM is against the rules. But when silly/fun mods that dont ruin gameplay for other people are considered bad… it just blows my mind.

Yeah, not all mods are evil, tho, some are more fun than evil, I’ve seen mods that the only difference is the Textures, or models, and I’ve seen some that change some of the weapon’s spawn locations. it’s all how they’re done, and what they’re meant for.
