I hate to sound like a ridiculous 5 year old kid, but if there were skins for the energy sword that would be so amazing. Imagine the energy sword with red lightning, or green lightning. I could not hold myself back from using it.
I’d want a skin that makes it look like a giant foam finger.
Would be cool, and there was a red energy sword in a book i believe, but i don’t think that would work because it isn’t a spawn weapon and I’m pretty sure it isn’t a ordnance drop.

But alas, no skins for the Sword seems to be the case since it won’t be a primary weapon.

Who says the sword can’t be a primary? The shotgun still is, right?
Does a weapon have to be primary to have a skin? Could just be reskinned when you pick it up.
Also, Headhunters-esque red energy sword? I would seriously marry the game.
Oh wait, it already has a ring. Too bad.

It isn’t anymore.
It sure would be nice, especially for certain game modes like infection, mean green swords of doom 
However so far the only weapon skins I’ve seen in any game have to be applied before spawn, none has been applied when you pick it up, and hence it would only work for specific game types or maps (with spawned skinned weapons).

That sorta blows. Here I was, looking forward to a snow-camo shotty. Oh well, they are both power weapons, so it works out okay. That being said, lets hope they make up for it with the Promethean weapons or a platinum M6

I’m pretty sure only your primary guns will have skins.
Oh hoo ra, yes! Maybe Inclement Weather swords. More lightning, less cloud. Or fire swords.
