ok so this might just be me but the H5 energy sword looks god awful. Instead of a sword it looks like an oversized pair of clippers. I know this is nitpicky but it’s just my opinion.
It’s not the actual energy sword (at least, not from what I’ve heard), it’s a gametype specific weapon. I’m guessing it’ll be like the oddball?
It’s a unique energy sword called “The Prophets Bane.” If you zoom it with it, it has a longer lunge range and I think faster movement speed.
The regular energy sword is still in the game, calm your -Yoink-.
The Prophet’s Bane looks rather thick. I don’t like it. I miss the original elegant purple-y blue Halo 2 Energy Sword.
Prophets Bane (does not =) OG Energy Sword, as already pointed out. It’s the map specific power weapon for Truth (Midship in Halo 5).
Hope they give a lore explanation. Sounds interesting.

This. I still do agree that the Prophet’s Bane is ugly though.
That is not a sword my friend it’s an entirely new weapon.

As others have already said, it’s not the energy sword, it’s the Prophet’s Bane. A weapon that is unique to the map Truth (the remake of Midship from Halo 2). The weapon works like an energy sword, but it has a farther lunge attack and increased movement speed. The original energy sword we all know and love is still present in the game.
As for the PB’s looks, I agree that it is horribly designed. That seems to be a trend in 343’s direction for the franchises art style.

The Propeht’s Bane is the Arbiter’s personal sword. That’s why the map is called “Truth”.
It is Arbiter’s personal weapon and I have read that it is unique to the map ‘‘Truth’’.
Yay, so now the arbiter has an ugly sword to match his new ugly dinosaur armor…

You may not like the looks, but the actual design is leagues better, if only for the fact that it has a hand guard so the user doesn’t accidentally cut off his own hand,
Supposedly this is not the energy sword, It’s the prophet of bane, winch must glow a lot so players can identify it at long range, without making it ‘‘OP’’ to camp
