I have a quick (and possibly stupid) question about energy shields. I can’t seem to find any info on this myself.
Will energy shields protect the face of a Spartan even if he/she is helmet-less?
That’s a tough one but I want to say yes because shields protect elites without helmets on. (EX. Gek.)
As far as MJOLNIR goes, I don’t think so. If the armor isn’t complete, wouldn’t the energy shields remain offline? I mean, Fred had his gauntlet/vambrace or whatever off in First Strike, and his shields were offline until he connected it again.
Aye that is very true. then yes I suppose it wouldn’t work.
The question is, are the shielding limitations still the same?
Chief’s shield module he received in H2 was superior to the one from H1 (the same one Fred would have had in First Strike) according to the guy helping chief set up his new armor. Something along the lines of being a fully human thing instead of repurposed covenant tech.
We also have the MK7 and Gen-II armors floating around, which may have changed things again.
Honestly the Mark VII manifests itself in GEN2 Mark V, Mark VI, and Air Assault. Recruit can also be considered the ‘Mark VII’ because its metallic composition is closer to that of older MJOLNIR Platforms.
In fact I’m convinced the Helmet and Chest are a continuation of the Mark IV design as used by Blue Team, considering all Mark IV’s weren’t static in appearance, and Recruit armor is only required for a short period. Other than that there’s no “mark” system anymore, not truly anyways.
On the topic of Mjolnir Marks, I consider Warrior Mark VII due to its decryption “MJOLNIR’s mainline armor kit” also it being produced by the Materials Group. But no Mjlonir shields work with the armor unless ret coned.
i wouldnt think so…i dunno i figured it all had to be together to work properly.
So, what you’re saying is, Warrior isn’t supposed to actually use shields? If it is true would that explain all the empty space in the back section? Which albeit is very similar to the backside of John’s modified armor.
I wonder where it was stated as such
