Energy Bayonets

What do you think about energy bayonets?

Any context at all? Are you referring to the picture of the bayonet thing on the Assault Rifle from a while ago?

No… that just wouldn’t work in the Halo universe.

i dont like bayonets [or any melee weapon really] myself but i do think its a cool addition to the halo universe and one people could have alot of fun with so im all for it

I’m pretty sure what you are referring to is just a skin. It might allow for a special assassination animation…but I think it’s doubtful. Though I do remember it being stated somewhere that the custom weapon variants have uses in Warzone, so it might give a melee buff instead. I am sure more info will be dropped in the next big presentation event.

One thing I am concerned about, however, is usage. These weapon varients, they’re strictly available in Warzone only, correct? I’m totally fine with them being available in Forge, in fact, I really hope they are. I just don’t want to see them in Arena.

Apparently they will be in Arena, just as cosmetic skins. I think it’s in the fine print in one of the pre order bonuses…though all that is subject to change.

It worked with the elites in Halo: Reach. I don’t see the problem. Unless you were joking.

Not exactly. The skin is a completley different asset than the bayonet, only the skins transfer. I wouldnt be surprised if modified versions of guns pop up in arena as map pickups eventually though. At least if that happens its balanced because as a pickup anyone can obtian it, and theyd likely have it to further fine tune weapon pickups and map control.

I’m more than serious. It worked on ELITES, not UNSC weaponry. How would you even try to convince people this would be workable in the lore? I don’t even READ the frickin’ lore and know this isn’t there. Why? Because it’s not UNSC, it’s not ONI, it’s not Human, or Spartan. It’s just not a good idea.

I guess you’re right. It’s not unimplementable its just not that great.

The fine print I read was about the SMG ( first one I saw ) which wasn’t as clear as the description of the others…I see what you mean.

If only that wasn’t the case for this one weapon, the wondrous Sentinel Battle Rifle and it’s -Yoink!- classic BR scope.

Doesn’t matter if you think it would work or not. It’s confirmed for the game.

Because it’s talking about Covenant weapons vs UNSC weapons. I’m talking about bayonets being used both in the past and today by humans

The UNSC has been stealing Covenant and Forerunner technology for a while, so I’m really not sure what you mean.
