It turns out its a 1 hit kill if you melee anyone, just an energy sword without lunge

Only in war zone its a req card. And a level 8 one at that for the guns I have seen. So its basically a end game weapon.
You can only really use it in the last 100 points or so and unless you get lucky you are easily mowwed down before getting to a target its only really useull for defense and cqc.
Considering only the damage of it i think it is op but when you consider more things like when it is unlocked in the game I think its well balanced
