What type of enemy variety would you add to halo Infinite? Some type of enemy that isn’t a reskin of what halo already has but still provides a strategic way to defeat them, but not required.
I personally would like to see more innovation from the banished brutes that we already have
Banished 1: Jetpack brutes will be able to be more mobile and can shoot you above cover if they reach high enough.
Option: When shooting, jetpack brutes will expose their jetpack giving you the option to obliterate it.
2: The charging brutes have the ability to do a hop/hulk smash something like that at the character
Option: Just like in the demo shooting their leg will cause them to stumble. But shooting while their hopping in mid-air will make that stumble much more punishable for that brute
3: I’ve seen a lot of you guys mentioning Goliaths goliaths should NOT be implemented is if they’re like a bullet sponge and act primarily to stop you from advancing, an example is the battle of the sunaion hunter mini-boss fight.
Instead, Goliaths are more of a puzzle that relies on the player to use their sandbox against the Goliath, such as angering it to charge into some fusion coils.
4:The tankbeast (cut enemy from the older halo games) have the ability to shoot red acid balls of projectiles that applies damage over time. But they’ll be more modified to fit the banished art style, (maybe a mix of the locust in halo wars 2?)
-Carries about 2-3 grunts on their back, one grunt operates a slow plasma turret
-Fast and agile, can jump high or crawl on walls
-Can charge at the player,
-In order to kill them, you’ll have to shoot and break off its legs or use explosives as that applies a larger radius of splash damage. (Maybe also boarding them?)
Sharquoi - They would provide a great deal of challenge for players as in lore they are ruthless, quick, and tanky. I doubt they could appear in the campaign, but they should be added for PvE modes. - Skirmishers - They should return as the role they played as flank and rush enemies in Reach, they were fun to shoot and can sometimes overwhelm the player while they were busy protecting an objective or a bigger threat. - Drones - They haven’t been used since Reach, and were a rarity even there. They played the role of just being an airborne nuisance and if the game’s engine is as powerful as it’s supposed to be, 100s of these guys on screen would be terrifying. - Chaefka - These beasts wouldn’t be initially hostile but if you happened to attack them they would charge you (these were the tusked bear-like animals from Hunters in the Dark)
Lekgolo - Not just the Hunters, but the Goliath type enemies and maybe even feral worms, similar to how they were portrayed in Nightfall and Renegades - Rafakrit - Easily a boss-like animal you’d want to avoid, description from Halopedia states: "Towering the size of a house, the Rafakrit roam around on six thick and muscular legs. They possess a large mouth filled with several rows of daggerlike teeth and have three rows of bright red fins running along their backs. Due to these features, some humans thought of them as looking like “land-sharks”." They were featured in Legacy of Onyx - Flood - I know that this is assumed to be very broad, but what I specifically mean is all the forms we’ve encountered before, that includes the new pure forms from Wars 2 and the Juggernaut. Wars 1 also had a flying form that shot projectiles. This would extend to flood occupied vehicles too.
Drones could be really interesting if brought back. Especially with the grappling hook.
I just don’t want them to be a frustrating “swarm” enemy anymore. 343 could sprinkle 1-3 of them at a time with the grunts and jackals in wide open spaces.
Maybe before you alert enemies in the area, you might see them doing logistical duties, like flying and placing fusion coils on the ground. And also maybe they could pick up grunts.

I want to see the Grunt Goblin mech again, maybe even in campaign this time.
Editing to say I just saw you meant not a reskin of what Halo already has…ok then, since some grunt mechs have Needlers and others have Scarab guns, how about one with a giant fuel rod cannon?
Goliaths from Halo Wars 2 would be a great addition. Maybe you have to target their legs like a scarab? Maybe heavily damaging 3 legs will kill it? You could even add a “boarding” assassination.

It would need to be less of a bullet sponge though. Although I know there are weak spots in Warzone (and I’ve seen a couple videos where people have shot at the ‘cockpit’ shield and killed the grunt). I think if they implemented it in the sense of being a mini boss like hunters with a weak spot it could work.
Bring back Halo Wars 2 Legolo an Banished troops into the mix. H5 knights, Bring back Halo Reach skirmishes, elite ultras an zealots with catch an toughluck skull behavior on… (Bots) we could use an enemy that likes to strafe back an forth an shoot like player controlled characters in pvp. Bots, Anyone watch any HW2 matches. Hw2 has a large variety of units
Morolaath, or more commonly known as Blind Wolves would be super neat, they are hostile wildlife on the Ark, and would be relentless to even Banished forces.
I would like to see the Banished Units that we saw back in Halo Wars 2. If I remember correctly there was a unit that was a Brute with a Grunt on his back, and all of the Hunter variants. Also maybe have another faction, I dont want 343inc to abandon the Prometheans, I do want to see them again but maybe with some changes to make them more fun to fight. I think that the Prometheans have great potential but they werent utilized that well in Halo5 (we only got 1 Promethean Vehicle and we never got the Promethean Knight`s Sword).

I think those are some really interesting ideas, I do hope the lekgolo return back, perhaps they can provide as a mix of a swarming/support unit.
Example: The Lekgolo can meat shield friendly units while charging towards the player, when killed they turn into an aggressive swarm of feral worms.

I also think that 343 shouldn’t abandon Prometheans if they can make them fun to fight. I do agree that Prometheans have a lot of potential they don’t have as much restrictions as something like a brute for an example.
You know how the flood stalkers can evolve into the tank form or ranged form? I feel like the same can be applied for Prometheans.
Example: A group of crawlers (around 3) can morph into one super crawler that’s very aggressive, and maybe play a hit and run style where the super crawler has the ability to charge at the player, shoot bolt shots or just charge a bolt shot. The super crawler movement is quick jumps side to side. However, from what we saw in the gameplay demo trailer the player should be able to shoot pieces off his legs to make it stumble or fall down just like the banished brute.
The same thing can also apply to the robot Prometheans soldiers turning into a super solider. However, I hope they aren’t a knight 2.0 as that provides nothing new to the gameplay. The super solider could maybe shoot a sentinel beam that chases after you (not impossible to avoid though) and then also have it’s standard suppressor guns firing at the player. You can shoot the super soldiers arms off to decrease the amount of projectiles coming at you from the super solider.
Finally we don’t really have much melee promethean units, seeing one with a pole axe would be nice imo. Some of the poleaxe attacks can be dodge able (For example a sweeping attack can be avoided by jumping)
Other additions:
1: Prometheans weapons shouldn’t have hit or homescan and projectiles should be as slow as the banished weapons (You are never restricted to only 1 encounter in gameplay)
2: Different colors you know, it’s kind of boring to look at the same color (I know the color is part of the lore but if lore restricts enjoyable gameplay I am against that)
3: Make it feel like the player is not shooting a brick wall, you can see pieces missing in the prometheans, smoke etc.

Their design looks beautiful, sounds like a promising enemy.

I do like the boarding idea, not sure how the grapple hook will fit into that though.
I don’t have any ideas for different units but I would like to see specialised armour and gear. Imagine if on installation 04 you were inserted into the cold chambers of the forerunner structure in AOTCR and all the grunts were wearing jackets so they were warm. It would make sense canonically because they are very susceptible to the cold and it would also be cute. I would like to see enemy difficulty scale but I don’t know how it would work. It would suck if every enemy just walked around with fuel rod cannons and thick shields and a wraith convoy. If difficulty does scale or increase through the campaign, I think that designing this would be a big challenge for 343 to keep it fun.
Lol I was actually going to make a forum very similar to this, glad to see fellow fans have similar thoughts.
Hopefully it’s not too crazy of an idea but I think it would be surreal if they were to also add in the different enemy models from each Halo game to Halo Infinite. Perhaps each model can maybe still have their own perks/classes on the battlefield for what they’re used for. From a lore perspective though, I’d like to see some as sub-species or different races. We could potentially have the best of both Bungie’s classic design and 343’s new design. I’ll set out a few examples:
Grunts.
The grunts in Halo 4 and Halo 5 looked much different than the grunts in Halo Reach, Halo CE: Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo3. It would be cool to see two different types of grunt and their classes in Halo Infinite.2. Jackals/Skirmishers.
Every jackal up to Halo Reach, Halo CE: Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo 3 look the same. The only differences are the skirmishers from Halo Reach and the jackals from Halo 4 and Halo 5. Imagine seeing three different types of jackal in Halo Infinite.3. Elites.
This is a tough one. I don’t want to discredit and abandon 343’s art choice as I know alot of people didn’t like the look of elites in Halo 4 and Halo 5. So to compensate, how about we have both lol? It looks like there’s two different models of elite currently. We have the Halo 2: Anniversary/Halo Wars 2 elites and the Halo 4 and Halo 5 elites. How cool would it be to see two different types of elite models on the battlefield?4. Brutes.
There’s about 3 different models of brutes and I think it would really add variety to The Banished if they were added to Halo Infinite. We have the brutes from Halo Reach, Halo 2: Anniversary/Halo Wars 2, and Halo 3. (Although I must mention, the brutes from Halo Reach look really frightening lol. They have a very distinct alien look to them).5. Hunters.
This is a fun one. The different types of hunter models from Halo Reach, Halo 3/Halo 3:ODST, Halo 4/Halo5 and Halo Wars 2 can potentially be put into Halo Infinite. - Halo Reach hunters were really huge, slow moving, powerful. - Halo 3 hunters were the standard look of hunters, blue armor, had the beam canon. - Halo 3:ODST same as Halo 3 but seemed to have black and dark bronze-gold armored hunters. - Halo 4/5 hunters were faster, bigger, more powerful, more clever. I’ll give credit to 343, Halo 5’s hunters are truly menacing and quite hard to beat. That’s the way a hunter should be, hands down. Even in Halo 5’s firefight, they had about 5 different classes of hunters. - In Halo Wars 2 we have the Iron Clad Hunters (basically hunters with extra armor), The Hunter Captain and The Goliaths. It would be an absolute madhouse if they included the different hunter models, as well as new ones to Halo Infinite. It would add a fair amount of variety.
Buggers.
How can we forget about our beloved buggers lol? Even they looked different in Halo Reach and Halo 2: Anniversary/Halo 3/Halo 3: ODST. It looks like there’s 2 different variation of buggers.7. Prometheans.
I’ve seen that alot of fans weren’t too fond of the Prometheans. But again, I don’t want to discredit 343 new enemies and I actually liked them alot. I think it would add another good amount of variety to Halo Infinite. - Even the Promethean Knight models in Halo 4 and Halo 5 look different. I remember in the 1st mission of Halo 5, I think Spartan Tanaka said that the prometheans in are different than the one’s in Halo 4. She said “the new kind too, like they reported on Oban”. - We also have the watchers, promethean soldiers, and the crawlers. - I’d hope they make a return in Halo Infinite being that they are with Cortana and the Created.8. The Flood.
We just can’t not forget about The Flood lol. Just bring in all the Flood enemies from Halo 3, Halo Wars 1 and Halo Wars 2 lol.I’d hope they bring back the engineers too lol. I feel as though Halo Infinite has so much potential and they now have a full year to improve the game after the delay. If 343 were to implement this route, it’s like they really would make Halo, “infinite”, with all of this seemingly endless variety. Like I said, we would have the best of both Bungie’s classic designs and 343’s new designs. Basically, 343 would be expressing homage/respect to Bungie while also adding their new designs as well.
To be realistic though, I know all of this probably won’t even happen lol. But in all truth, I really hope that this does actually happen. Just wanted to share and relate my idea out there since I seen a forum that was similar to the forum I was originally going to create lol. Hope you enjoyed the read and I really hope Halo Infinite comes out as expected to be.

Great minds think alike brother lol. Actually always wanted to see Halo express on it’s wildlife alot more after seeing the Moa and Guta from Halo Reach.
