So toggling it of for teammates isn’t a big deal then…
I get what you’re saying mate. Outlines should only be for friendlies. This way the enemy cannot be spotted (this you also can’t be spotted) from the other side of the map.
Not sure what you’re trying to say.
Not sure how I would simplify it anymore. Already as reductive I can be on the point made.
had a few issue today, often when playing strong holds where multiple people are in a small areas, sometimes I am just looking a piece of someone (inside their outline) and can’t readily tell if they are a friend or foe.
Halo’s multiplayer always has been, and always should be, about a bunch of red guys and a bunch of blue guys fighting over a box canyon in the middle of nowhere. Forcing team colours is the world’s simplest solution to the player identification problem, and IMO it also looks much nicer because there is absolutely zero requirement for any sort of indicator beyond ‘that guy isn’t the same colour as you wrists so go blast him’. Personally I couldn’t care less about seeing other players’ colour schemes or about other players seeing my colour scheme (especially now that the new coating system has completely removed all individuality from player colours). And with the glow system you can barely even see the enemy’s colours most of the time because by necessity the red glow has to be strong enough to completely overpower the colour of the player’s armour to make which team they’re on as clear as possible.
If 343 are really, really hung up about it they can just make it a clientside toggle like the option to disable the new skins and armour in MCC’s Halo 3. That way everyone wins - people who want to see everyone’s coatings can still do that while everyone who doesn’t can go back to good ol’ red vs blue.
Just bring back RvB. Yep, it’s going to kill cosmetic at an unreasonnable price but …
Rocket League is Orange Versus Blue (and not the same type of game I know). But you can customize your car for each side. You choose a different design, different wheels, different goal animation ect. They can do the same for Halo.
And the price of skins is realy too hight in RL … So, 343 can do that too …
In RL, when a mate (or not a mate have) a skin that change color of theire cars, I’m lost. If my mate have a orange skin and we are blue. I’m lost, I thought he isn’t with me ect. In Halo, the ennemy have a lot of differents colors … What a pain to understand who is with me and against me … When we are close, I juste don’t see the outline (and it’s realy a big outline). And don’t notice if he is with me or not …
We need to have option to change the stickers for each team, colors (limited to different reds for red team and different blue for blue team, and a secondary we can’t change for each team).
And like RL, bring “clan’s color”. If two clans meet in RL. The game load the colors of the two clans and we plays with our colors. It’s really good and positive. If two clans have the “same” color, the game took the secondary color and bring it two primary…
So yep, I don’t want to see outline any more. It’s not Halo, it’s just an assist we don’t need. We have radar, we have eyes, so, if you can’t have informations by yourself, why the game need to gave you these informations ?
Instead of making outlines for teams maybe you should…I dont know…MAKE THE TEAH THE SAME COLOR!!!
Im tired of confusing enemies and teammates based on their armor colour and the contour barley helping
@SweetTRIX Re-read what I said. Or better yet I’ll say it again: “Obviously, you’ll stick out less than if you wore bright white or yellow, but you cannot disappear.”
The outlines are still one of the few things that bother me as well. I truly support the choice of no longer using set team colours and being able to have your tailored Spartan in every game, however the outlines are so present that this expressive aspect is lost behind it.
At the moment you just fight outlines and it’s quite ridiculous from what ranges the outlines trigger.
I guess a toggle would be hard to implement quickly and would be too big a disadvantage, but it would be nice if the outlines trigger in the same way as aim assist (read: a dedicated cone around your crosshair triggers the outline) instead of the current system where they are always present.

I’d prefer the old Red and Blue teams to return.
This Destiny style thing is bad for team based games.
The bright red outlines give away players form a millions miles away.
And this is the other thing you said:
“Nowhere in this game is dark enough to exploit black armors or any sort of camos”
Which is a factually inaccurate statement. Anything of lesser contrast is advantageous in this game. If you meant the line you repeated than fair enough, but my response was aimed at this statement and a general misunderstanding at how color works.
There is no misunderstanding on my part. The overall look of the game is very similar to Reach, and in Reach there were dark spots and dark armor colors and no outlines. There was never an issue with it. Even on the darker maps in Infinite, you wouldn’t have a meaningful advantage. I stand by the correct statement that nowhere in this game is it dark enough to EXPLOIT black armors. Spartans have always stood out against the environment regardless of color.
