Hey guys, for the past couple of days I’ve been grinding away at the enemy commendations in Spartan Ops. I’m just wondering if anyone has some tips (aside from the stages to grind on, I have that down pat) to make life a bit easier and if you get anything for getting 100% overall in the category.
The following are the remaining kills I need:
Covenant
Grunt: 2076
Jackal: 1334
Total: 3410
Forerunner
Crawler: 3978
Crawler Sniper: 2349
Knight: 584
Knight Battlewagon: 310
Knight Commander: 326
Watcher: 1666
Total: 9213
GRAND TOTAL

Gagarin (last episode in chapter 2) is the best episode for Crawler Slayer. On Heroic/Legendary there are 60+ each time.
Crawler sniper, theres really no advice, the level with the most only has around 10-12. You just have to grind away.
As for Knights, Spartan Miller has the most by far. (1st episode in chapter 5)

Ignore Grunt and Jackal kills. They’re not required for Covenant and Forerunner Destroyer. Let the Watchers respawn the Knight commanders and just remember to use the restart option. You’ll unlock Orbital AEON for Covenant Destroyer and Vanguard for Forerunner Destroyer.

I already completed Covenant Destroyer (hence me not doing Grunt and Jackal) but I still want to complete them to settle my OCD.
All answers given as Episodes/Chapters for example 5/1 would be episode 5, chapter 1
Grunt: Best 7/4 then 5/4
Jackal: Best 3/4 then 7/4
Considering 7/4 has either the best or second best totals for those two you need, I highly recommend playing just that specific chapter, at least until you have all your grunts done. By then you’ll also have most of the Jackal kills you need.
Before I go over the Promethean numbers, 5/1 (Spartan Miller) has the highest concentration of all types of Prometheans of ANY episode/chapter. Playing this chapter over and over will net you the commendations of most of the Prometheans the quickest. That said here is the individual breakdown.
Crawler: Best 2/5 then 9/5
Crawler Sniper: Best 5/1 then 1/3
Knight: Best 5/1
Knight Battlewagon: Best 5/1 then 6/3
Knight Commander: Best 5/1 then 6/5
Watcher: Best 5/1 then 9/3
So again, looking at that breakdown, Episode 5, Chapter 1 (Spartan Miller) is the BEST choice when going for overall Promethean kills for commendations. Once you get 5 or the 6 you need, then you can switch to 2/5 for the remainder regular Crawler kills.

I highly recommend this topic! It’s got lots of useful information.
Also, if you complete the Covenant Destroyer commendation you unlock the Orbital Armor with Aeon Skin, and if you complete the Forerunner Destroyer commendation you unlock the normal Vanguard Armor, (not the Vanguard Armor with Converge skin - that is unlocked by winning 240 CTF games).

If you don’t mind using the Restart Mission feature rather than finishing missions, there is a good method for getting 4 Knight Commanders and 3 Crawler Snipers every two minutes:
Halo 4 Crawler Sniper & Knight Commander Enemies
Finally, for Grunt Slayer I would suggest Episode 5, Chapter 4 on Easy = 53, for Jackal Slayer try Episode 3 Chapter 4 on Normal = 23 and for Crawler Slayer play Episode 2 Chapter 5 on Easy = 78.
