Not sure if I’m in the minority here, but having a Jackal or Soldier backtrack while shooting me faster than I can sprint is a real pain. Not sure what else I can say, really. It doesn’t happen often, but I hate when I’m making a beeline for a back turned enemy to Spartan charge, only for them to 180° and shred me like paper, while backtracking like Usain Bolt in reverse.
Just don’t spartan charge.
Why are you trying to spartan charge then? If this was in MP sure I get that, but AI’s have various speeds so that should go without saying

If I can’t headshot them, due to shields/angles, it’s nice to start the fight with a bigger damage infliction than a few mere bullets.

that’s what grenades are for. Or get a vantage point and then ground pound. Is this for firefight or campaign?

I guess so, but I don’t always have grenades. Firefight, mainly.

Maybe don’t just charge the AI. Everybody knows that they won’t destroy you because they are so under powered.

There’s your problem. Melee’ing in any form is pretty much pointless considering the AI are basically on legendary difficulty and can snipe you without a second though. Just stay back, throw a grenade or spawn a better weapon.
