ending = cheated

Don’t get me wrong, i LOVED halo 4’s storyline, but the ending…i felt cheated.

i mean not only was there no boss fight, but it just didnt feel…complete.

i thought chief would go head to head with the didact, but he didnt. and then out of nowhere, cortana can just manipulate hard light (something she’s never done before) and save the chief.

but then again i think halo 4 brought forth a theme that bungie may have overlooked in it’s past games: man or machine. because we really dont know if chief is one or the other. and that is displayed when cortana asks him to tell them who is the human and who is the machine when everything is over.

but still the ending was not like halo 2 or 3 or CE or even ODST. Chief just saved the human race. again. and yet he still stands there like he lost… and yet i feel like cortana will come back.

but although this apparently a “setup game” from what i have heard, every halo game had an ending that made it feel whole, and that didnt leave me feeling cheated. but nonetheless, still a great game.

Well usually the first game in the trilogy sets the story for the rest of the trilogy. Hopefully.

A Didact boss fight probably would’ve been a SIlver the Hedgehog retread from Sonic 06. Those who played know what I mean.

It’s no use!

Combat Evolved -Warthog run
Halo 2 -Tartarus fight
Halo 3 -Warthog run
Halo ODST -Mongoose run
Halo Reach -Mac Cannon move/Emotional build up
Halo 4 -Emotional build up

We need either a Warthog run or boss fight. Emotional Build up is getting kinda stale

i wasnt even born then probably. but that’s probably a good analogy

CE was originally meant as a stand alone game.

I can agree with you on a level…but I still think it was a great storyline!

Do you realize that there’s going to be a halo 6?

And sounds like you’re taking goosecheka’s words, you might not but I heard those words from her so hey, coincidence or not?

That’s like saying, master chief never fired hard light before so how do he do it in halo 4?

He picked up a Promethean weapon.
Same logic applies to Cortana.

She got control of hard light systems.

It seems that the didact had no ancilla with him, no ancilla to combat Cortana.

Cortana will be back. The Didact will be back. The Flood will be back. The Brutes will be back. The Arbiter will be back.

Halo 4 is just the beginning of the Reclaimer trilogy.

There is a whole lot more to look forward to, campaign wise.

I just thought that the shield protecting Chief at the end was a little bit far-fetched, but sci-fi is far-fetched to begin with.

I know why you feel cheated.

But think about it, like you said, chances are cortana comes back. We saw very little of Halsey in Halo 4, and cheif doesn’t want another AI. Chances are, he finds Halsey and takes her to requim, where the clearly not dead Didact resurfaces to seek revenge against the cheif, who is ever more figuring out what he is to become.

> Do you realize that there’s going to be a halo 6?

Doesn’t mean Halo 4’s ending had to disappointing.

Dont forget that also the Librarian did something to the Chief and Cortana.

the ending to reach was so epic…not even a build up…just…pure epicness.
