So it is the end of Spartan Ops - Season 1
SPOILERS
Requiem is gone, Halsey kidnapped/turned evil.
What is next? What have been your highlights of the series? or what do you think they can improve for Season 2? (will there even be a season 2?)

I want season 2, so much 343 can do with Spartan Ops now that it isn’t restricted to just Requiem.
I didn’t finish Season one, because I lost interest in it. I miss firefight

The only thing interesting about Spartan ops were the cutscenes and they’re on youtube.

But Spartan Ops is firefight, just with a story line…
I’m pissed because Palmer didn’t die…
How do I feel? I feel that PVE players are going to have to find some other Horde Mode in some other game and unless there’s something is being done on the backside no one knows about. Halo 4 is now simply a PVP only. I don’t really count Season 1 re-runs as a true commitment to PVE players.
I’m utterly confused.
Why, exactly, did Mdama destroy Requiem? What did he have to gain, besides the destruction of basically heaven for a Forerunner worshipper like himself.
Was his only goal to destroy Infinity? What, he really couldn’t have taken it with his massive fleet when it had no manueverability? And anyway, why not just leave and come back with reinforcements? It’s not like he could have been chased.
I also find it bewildering that Halsey is willing to betray her entire species for revenge on one or two people. And not only that, but that the Elites’ medical technology is about equivelant of that at the time of United State’s Civil War.
Also, I have to ask, from a gameplay perspective, why would 343 destroy Requiem? They had literally an entire planet to explore in the future, think of all the secrets it could hold. And now it’s gone.
Not that I don’t want to explore more places, but why destroy such a valuable one?
Excluding the story, I think Spartan Ops is a lot of fun–when it’s not lagging. I did find it incredibly repetitive–move here, press button, get retrieved ha PSYCHE, you really need to fight through more enemies to leave than you did to get there. I think the missions should tie more directly into the story (which they did at the end), and that we really need longer CGI cutscenes. If I’m going to wait a whole week to watch something, I want something more than five minutes. I’m not asking for a half hour a week, or even 15 minutes, but 5 minutes a week just isn’t enough time for character development and plot.
My Crimson team is ready to grab Halsey by her stub, drag her 2000 lightyears across the galaxy to Earth, slaughtering countless Covies and Prometheans along the way, whilst operating out of our own, personal UNSC Prowler, outfitted with an armoury, combat deck (like on the Infinity) and hangar. The Prowler would be a hub for missions, that you could free roam and explore parts of the Halo canon, whilst the combat deck would allow us to connect to live war games on the Infinity. Upgrades can be purchased with Spartan Points (which we can get from leveling up, as usual), such as weapon systems, drones, EVA’s…
Did I just accidentally cover most of the plot for a Hal MMO?
Anyway, one of my favourite moment from Spartan Ops was Land Grab, after an isane Warthog jump (with friends). We did three barrel rolls, got as many Road Trip!, kept shooting, landed on our front wheels, drove off an outcrop, crushed out objective and landed, wheels up!

I like this! Nice story bro.
I think Dr.Halsey is possibly the last person the UNSC wants against them.

Jul actually is not very religious whatsoever. He fakes the guise of being zealous to get his followers and to keep something to veil his true intentions that might otherwise inspire doubt and conflict amongst his men.
The Infinity had the military prowess on its own (including or excluding the various ships docked /within/ it) to completely subdue the Sanghelios Navy; the Infinity would rip apart Jul’s fleet if they moved on an offensive vector. The thing just has too much firepower packed into it, and that’s excluding docked ships, Spartan IV boarding parties, and other docked assets. Moreover, he couldn’t get reinforcements because he’d be killed for his traitorous deeds up to this point. The Storm Covenant, a faction he picked up on a Sangheili colony world, are his only resources at this point.
Being that he’s not religious, has half of the Janus Key to many, MANY more Forerunner installations including other shield worlds, and that the Infinity is the sole greatest threat to his future exploits and plans, it’s not dubious to believe he’d wreck the entire planet just to ensure the UNSC’s greatest asset would not survive.
If Jul’s men had retreated to grab reinforcement’s, Infinity’s crew would have overwhelmed all Storm-held positions that were undermanned and freed themselves even sooner.
Sangheili medical technology is advanced to an unknown level, but it simply isn’t used by the average Sangheili male for fear of losing their honor. Moreover, Halsey isn’t necesarrily against humanity. She’s against ideas and actions: ONI has tried to sweep her under the carpet too many times and the UNSC as a whole hasn’t shown her a self-perceived kindness she believes she is owed. Moreover, we do not know Halsey’s true intentions- she never really had any particular care for the UEG, UNSC, or ONI. She only cares about HER Spartans and unlocking the mysteries of the world around her. She’s about as ambiguous as they come for the finer details of what she’s planning, but at her most base form she’s not what the cutscene makes you think she is.
Same could be said for the Shield World in Halowars, Alpha Halos 1 and 2, High Charity, and the Lesser Ark, no? Requiem’s not the first Forerunner casualty in the series that only lasted for a game.
I want more!
Meh, if they dedicate more time to improving the missions and the overall storyline, I would buy it. It would be cool if they had missions like nightfall from reach were you are sneaking around behind enemy lines assassinating enemies and running into indigenous alien creatures (like those ones in reach, can’t remember their names).
Anyway, as of right now the missions are too repetitive. Just my two cents
Really wish they didn’t blow up requiem. I felt the place had a lot more too offer, and could’ve been a central location for the new trilogy. But I liked how Halsey’s joined Jul and the storm guys, nice twist. (Btw, still hate majestic… most boring super-soldiers ever)
P.S I want a point system and skulls for the missions in season 2
