EDIT:Before you go on, I have recently reviewed more game play and I think it could work

343…you have to be joking, this is what happens when you listen to casuals and try to cater to a new audience.

Tell me in what way do this “evolutions” benefit halo? The game looks like a gimmick that I would play like 5 games on and be done with.

All of these features are designed for weak players. period.The Thrust to evade danger, wall clutching or whatever they call it eliminates skill jumps, and what was up with the player tracking rocket?

Last night when the two teams were facing off and someone was about to kill someone with the prophets bane, he just thrusts out of the way. What?! Halo is a game about positioning and skill and in a situation like that he should have been dead. Not to mention this game was not fluid at all, just compare it to h2a.

Also why does the AR have “smart scope”

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be immersed when Im playing competitive multiplier, because that’s it,its competitive. Just because a spartan can do this stuff doesn’t mean he needs to in mp, spartans can also crouch,crawl and do back flips but they don’t have those features but I probably shouldn’t give them anymore ideas

Anyone who says otherwise is not seeing the pattern with the latest halo games.Stop saying this “halo needs to evolve or die” stuff, halo is dying because its evolving in the wrong way.

Watching this footage last night made me want to cry, because if this stays in, halo has died. So we need to get loud before this game comes out, plauge the forums demanding these features are removed because they obviously didn’t hear us( or they choose not to )

Nothing is better, this a new era for a hybrid between Halo and Call of Duty. Halo is absolutely dead. This is unacceptable. ADS, spartans habilities are like armor habilities, spartans habilities are like Destiny or Call of duty with the exoskeleton. This is going to be the worst Halo ever.

For me the problem with Reach and 4 weren’t the additions in of themselves, it was that they were introduced in a way that made the gameplay unbalanced, there were no tradeoffs for using them. From what I’ve seen so far, 343i seemed to have found a way to balance these abilities in a way that adds some new dynamics to the game which I think were badly needed. 343i have gone back to equal starts so we all have the same abilities and weapons, there are tradeoffs for these abilities (sprinting means shields don’t recharge, ground pound leaves you vulnerable in the build up) nothing seems overly overpowered. As I said, I’m reserving final judgement until I’ve actually got my hands on it but I have no issues with what I’ve seen so far. If 343i can get these additions to work whilst still maintaining Halo’s strategy of teams aiming to control the map and everything not getting unbalanced again, I think Halo has a very very bright future.

But then, that’s just my opinion :slight_smile:

I completely agree with this, although as per usual people won’t be happy unless things stay exactly the same.

Even with these ability changes, it is likely we will end up with some form of a ‘classic’ playlist anyway.

I do agree, equal starts is a good thing and step in the right direction, but the other abilities don’t help halo really, they help weak players.

In that logic Halo had died ever since Halo 2 which has changed CE gameplay(the true classic Halo):
-dual wielding
-boarding(vehicle warfare changed foreever)
-destructible vehicles
-faster jump, walk speed
-no health
-playable aliens

Bungies y u copiez from GTA and Tribes, i wantzzz haloz to go back to CE roots

See what i did there just applying your logic to the rest of the games in the past. Go play MCC and let Halo 5 remain Halo 5 and not Halo 2.1

Why is that a problem? Halo was BUILT around this “classic” formula. It absolutely should have it. Innovation isn’t forbidden. Turning Halo into COD is. Thats not saying Halo 5 will be a COD clone, but Halo 4 is as close as it ever should be, and never again after that. Until i play the beta, i will refrain from saying whether this new direction is good or bad.

Spartan Abilities do add to the Arena style of Halo. How do they benefit ‘weal’ players? Anyone can use them. It’s not like only beginners can activate them.

So please tell us then what you want added to the game which will innovate and not break it? Because all i can ever see from everyone who forms the same opinion as you is that nothing is good enough is game breaking and caters to the casual player?

Is first-person hand-to-hand combat too disorienting for the average person, seeing we are campaigning for new non-COD-esque features?

Honestly a good feature to suggest IMO for people who are -Yoinking!- about “ADS” and abilities without compromising on innovation.
Only problem though was people were nauseous over Mirror’s Edge…
