Enable betrayals in Spartan Ops please!

So, I just spent the past 12 minutes getting my mantis destroyed by the other three players on “Shootout in Valhalla”.

Now, normally i’m not one to complain. But the fact is, not only did I lost out on Commendations AND XP, but I couldn’t boot them for killing my mantis with me in it, and I died more times than necessary by the covenant.

Please make it so either your vehicle is indestructible to allies, or enable betrayal booting. Because this is pretty stupid 343.

Thank you,

Happened to me too. But when your Mantis blows up another shows up shortly after.

Meh, just avoid them for unsporting conduct. If 3 guys were ganging up on you with betrayals allowed you’d have died a bunch more times anyway. Or just quit and play another round.

It annoys me when it happens to me too, but I usually then just blow up their mantis while their shooting banshees, then blow up the next one as they’re climbing into it.

Hahaha, yeah I noticed. But the point is, it shouldn’t have to happen.

I mainly tend to just one man the missions unless I have friends on. I was stuck in a similar situation in “The VIP” with tanks. I agree that being able to boot would be phenomenal

I had the same issue honestly.

It’s pretty upsetting.

I don’t really care about that. It just depends on who you get teamed with. I just wish they would add some kind of score so we can tell who are getting kills and who isn’t. I have no idea on spart ops if I get a kill or not. I’d be happy with some kind of noise even or some kind of sign that I got a kill. I get people shooting at me and splattering me sometimes, but if they do then I just do it back or blow up their vehicle - sometimes it’s actually fun. But most the time people respect each other. Also in spart ops it seems like you get the same ammount of points no matter what you do anyways. Anyone can boost from just playing spart ops all the time too easy. For every 4 games of wargames i get more points in 1 game of spart ops for not hardly doing anything. Sorry for rambling.

I voted for betrayel booting straight up because this stuff happens on every mission pack so far. In the first episode it was the guys that were blowing up other peoples warthogs if they didnt get to drive or shoot or whatever they wanted, there is ALWAYS some miscreant on the map that thinks its funny as heck to fly around on the map in a ghost splattering team mates, and now in episode 3 we have a bunch of punks that will blow up another tank in the first mission that any other player gets into because they want to have the highest kill count. (Yes I used the word miscreant, I know what it means, and yes thats what I think of those guys.)

Yeah I voted for the ability to boot since there wasnt an option to vote for docking their experience by half for team killing, or an option for killing their server privilages.

When I’ve run across the map trying to get to team mates that are fighting and need help, and halfway there I have some punk in a vehical plow me under because they can’t tell the difference between SpartanOps and Slayer, or they just don’t care because their MM players just in there farming experience anyway…
then Yes, if 343 doesnt have the spine to discipline the didgital delinquints that are intentionally doing things to barf up my enjoyment of the game then give me the yoinking button because I have that much spine.

Spartan Ops is about people wanting to play something where they work as a team, they help people, and people help them. They want to play with other people that follow the code of “I got your 6”. But its getting harder and harder to find those matches because of all the immature pukes that drip over from MM because of the better experience points they can pull from SparOps than War Games.

If 343 would level the XP so that a SpartanOps mission “paid” about the same as a Slayer match then most of those ‘players’ would stay where they belong and stop spending their time making others regret even paying for the game.

Yes I know the players that do this sort of thing you can avoid them for unsportman like conduct, I do it everytime that I can tell a player is intentionally doing something that calls for it. That doesn’t help the next kid that he gets into a match with though and starts up with the same nonsense.

Not the point though. Yeah all the equipment generally reappears, but so do the delinquints that think its cute as a kitten to constantly blow it up again or run over you while your trying to get to it.

I guess I am one of the fortunate ones.

95% of the Spartan Ops games that I play are with solid individuals.

There was this time when 2 individuals of high rank were just standing there…

…and it was that Mantis level in Ep. 3.

20 minutes and a 100 plus kills later… I was pissed.

How the hell are you supposed to adapt to teammates destroying your vehicles?

I only blow up their mantis at the end of the game. I see almost everyone do this and its all in good fun since the game is over. I had a couple of times where people were just blowing each other up the whole game so I just explored the map till the game ended.

All I play is SpartanOps and I like it enough I play a lot of it, maybe its because of the amount I’ve played it that I’ve seen so much of the stuff happening.

People wrecking vehicles so other people can’t use them.
People blowing up turrents they don’t want people on.
Going out of their way to splatter “team mates”.

Most of the time yes, the people that you join up with will make an effort to work together to get things done, but there still needs to be a consequence to be suffered by the delinquints that destroy the entire purpose of trying to play co-op missions for the other people involved.

I’m not talking about an instant boot out for someone that you walk into their rocket, or that sticks a grenade to you that he was trying to stick to a wraith you jumped on, but honestly I’d like to see something like having friendly fire turned on, and then a “third time” is the charm rule put in play. After all if you manage to kill a team mate three times in a row then your not really trying to work with your team.

> Adapt

Thats a nonsense statement that tells me either your trying to start fires for reaction, or your one of the people wrecking the equipment and running over people.

But it’s funny!

And the Mantis spawns back immediately!

Why u mad?

You get more xp for just completing the mission, barely any for kills or difficulty. Commendations, play alone, more kills.

Because its not funny for the people that are playing the mission because they want to work as a team. For the people that are expecting you to watch their back not stick a knife in it.

It isn’t funny for the people that are trying to make a team effort that pretty much are left feeling yoinked by the punk thats blowing their vehicle out from under them becuase they think its cute as kittens.

Why does it make me mad? It makes me mad because instead of being able to feel good about a mission coming together and everybody having fun while its pulled off, there’s one chucklehead thats so self-centered they don’t realize if the other people on the team could get at them in reality during those 5-10-15 minutes they’ed beat their teeth out with a hammer for the crap their pulling mid mission.

Even though people hated Armor Lock in MP it was a useful AA in Firefight. Couple Armor Locks on a troll on a splatter spree against his team mates would usually send them back to the drawing board. I agree Spartan Ops has a serious problem, hell even Halo 4 suffers the same issue… it’s players.

I think there should be an ability to access the Player’s Info Card after X amount of Team Kills or Occupied Vehicles being destroyed performed by them where you can place a report. Get to many of these and you get pooled with other players who have committed the same offense for a two week period, so they can all just enjoy each other’s company and antics.

Really tired of that stuff. I think you should lose points at 2x rate for intentionally attacking a teammate. The 3rd or 4th time it happens would be a good start for the loss of points to begin. That way if someone is just having a bad game and not intentionally doing it they would not get the loss of experience. This way the game is referee and I think that the loss of progress would slow this stuff down.
