Before we start, I’m preeeeeeetttttty sure I know what your thinking right now; “wH@T !!!I,??!. H@I0 car h0vE bEc0Ne Fortnite!” And I agree. We can’t go the Doom 2016 route and have a pretty good multiplayer cheapend by things that are targeted to children. A dab for a April Fools at the most, and maybe not even that.
What I mean is something more like… well, you know the Deadpool go-cart emote that was, at time of writing, recently introduced to “The Game That Must Not Be Mentioned”? The one that replaces walking with a little go-cart?
Well, what if Infinite had the same basic thing, a walking animation replaced with something else, but the walk The Chief does at the start of the Halo 3 reveal trailer?
Or, for the reload animation, you throw your weapon behind your left thigh, and it flakes into little orange pieces like it’s being Composed, then, as a reference to a cut Halo 2 animation, you flip whoever is in front of you off, then, in the style of CE’s teleporters, your weapon appears behind your right shoulder, and you pick it up, fully loaded with a fresh clip?
Or, if Infinite doesn’t have Sprint, the go-cart thing again, but with the Sprint animation, as another reference to cut Halo 2 content? Just some food for thought. I know I’d pay for the opportunity to give my recent kills the middle finger.
Halo (before it even had the Combat Evolved subtitle) was going to have emotes. In the Macworld 1999 reveal trailer, the player could do things such as wave or gesture a command to move forward. It was likely cut as it served no real purpose, and seeing as a 2020 version would likely be loaded with paid meme garbage, I don’t trust 343 Industries with its return.
Given that the Spartan-IV’s have a lot more personality than most Spartans we’ve interacted with in the past or are lead to believe how flat they are? I can see emotes fitting but I don’t think we need them.
Could be cool but I don’t really think we need them. Would kind of take away from the gritty arena vibe to me. With Halo supposedly returning to form I’d be a shocked to see something like emotes drop into the game

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. These childish features don’t belong. Halo needs Grit and a military feel like it used to. Fortnite is that way.
Jesus… imagine just how bad that would be.The dabbing over corpses, the cringey dances… the game would turn into such a meme. I couldn’t think of a better representation of accelerationism in modern halo, congrats OP.
Halo emotes or expressions… yes please.
Inspecting weapon, pointing at target, lowering weapon, head forward hand gestrues, military hand gestures in general, and aim down sights. Those are animations that id accept gladly. Sprinting too while running.
Yeah; emotes, that’s too far.
I dont think we need it because I feel like it would disturb the flow of gameplay
Halo Emote… yes the T pose
I wouldn’t be against it, but I don’t think it suits Halo in the slightest. There’s also the issue of how they’re acquired, which will probably end up with them being laughably over priced like other games have been doing.
No… Just no. I’m tired of sounding like a dinosaur here, but dang it people, if you want Battle Royale, ADS, advanced movement, or emotes, then there are literally dozens of AAA games available for you to play. I even enjoy playing them, as a matter of fact. But why can’t we have one game that goes against the tidal wave of all the things I listed above? Why can’t Halo be the game that just keeps it simple?

I don’t think you understood my point. These emotes would NOT be cringey dances. They would be poses and movements from Halo’s history. I’ll give two more examples. You know the covers of Halo 2 and ODST? Well, just the poses from those. Most certainly NOT dances. And, not even for a April Fools joke. I’ve changed my mind about that.

I hope your being sarcastic. That’s not what I meant at all! Another example. In a cutscene from the CE level, “The Maw”, Chief did a little thing, where threw his Grenade up and down. There.

That could be a genuine concern. I’d say, (In British money.) around £0.99. Maybe £1.99 if 343 pushes it, but any more and I know I’ll push back.

Maybe have the option to say if you want them, don’t want them, or don’t mind when selecting a match in social, and outright ban them in competitive.

If the game goes for a gritty vibe, yeah, your right. But with stuff like custom games, forge, and Fotes, Halo has turned into more of a party for me.

Exactly! As long as some of the gameplay features aren’t included as a feature, they’d work for me!

Well, since you brought it up, yes, I do think Battle Royale would work, and if you want to know why, watch Teh Speahead’s and Favyn’s videos on it. They explain it better then I ever could. And, no, I don’t think ADS and advanced movement work. Again, Favyn’s done a few videos on the subject. And emotes… well, ya-know.
