Emblems removed from req slots | MOR patch notes

Patch notes can be found HERE.

Interestingly and not yet mentioned, is the fact that emblems no longer take up the main two permanent unlock slots when opening new gold/silver req packs, and rather they now come up (if you’re lucky) in the 3rd slot.

> The Gold and Silver REQ packs available in Halo 5: Guardians are also getting upgraded as part of the Memories of Reach release. As the amount of REQs in the pool increases with new Armor, Weapon Skins, Stances, and more, we wanted to give players more bang for their buck. In the case of Power Weapons REQs, we mean this quite literally.
>
> The first two slots in the packs will still guarantee permanent items, but will no longer grant emblems. This means that your chance of getting other permanent REQs such as Power Weapon Certifications, Weapon Skins, Armors, Helmets, and others has substantially improved as long you haven’t already unlocked them. While the third slot in these REQ packs previously only granted one-time-use REQs, it now offers a large chance at dropping Emblems as well. Finally, in general, players should see that these REQ packs will award rarer single use REQs more often.

Other interesting minor changes include no longer being able to knock teammates out of a req station in Warzone, and apparently a new ‘celebration moment’ in the PGCR for SR/CSR rank-ups.

Thanks for the vine Spartan!! This is another fantastic enhancement, as requested by the community.

Well that’s a shame for all of us that have already grinded through every single unlock. I guess they listened though to all the people that cried about it.

Thats great!!!

About -Yoink!- time kid!
Hahaha.

that’s a really good addition. that will help out a lot of people with the length of their grind for everything. some of us had to do it the hard way. lol

I wonder if they fixed the emblems not unlocking. Cough Triad Cough

Well it honestly was a scam the way it was before. Unfortunately, most people have already had that bad taste in their mouth, this should have been a quality control fix at launch.

The damage is already done.

I Like it this way alot better

No way I just got down to one emblem yesterday why do you torture me so :rage:

They also made it to where teammates can’t charge others out of the req stations

EDIT: Ok, I see what you’re saying now. Good stuff.

If I was using a req station, a teammate could groundpound me and I’d be forcefully moved away from the req station and thus the whole req selection screen would close, so I’d have to go back to the req station and press x to re-open it. I believe what they’re saying is that they’ve now prevented this from happening.

Oh praise the gods or 343 rather I despised opening those unfortunate packs

This is great news. Not buying another req until this is implemented.

Thank goodness, now the grind through Silver won’t be too bad.

Hmm I wonder what’d happen if you end up completing all the non-emblem uncommon-rare permanent unlocks before the emblems. I assume you would have to continue buying silver, to receive 2x 1500 req points and hoping for that missing emblem to eventually show up in the 3rd spot.

I still have a bunch of armor to unlock along with somewhere around 8 or 9 power weapons and vehicles, but man the amount of time I wasted unlocking emblems through gold packs (not to mention alllllll of the silver packs; I think I unlocked about 17 packs worth of just emblems at the end) now seems like a waste. I mean YAY! going forward, but now people who pickup the game are going to be finished with the good stuff by level 75. Highly unfair IMO, can I get some of those points I wasted on emblems back now? Of course not.

Yeah I wish it’d come earlier! At least it’ll make the rest of the unlocks quicker though.

Yes! No more junk emblems!
