After getting disconnected from 14 games IN A ROW I finally managed to grind out the 10,000 REQ points I needed for a Gold Battlepack - I mean REQ pack. What was the reward for my patience? Two useless emblems. I won two emblems as my permanent unlocks from a Gold Battlepack - I mean REQ pack. What a complete and utter joke.
Remove Emblems entirely from the loot table of Gold REQ packs, leaving them in silver and bronze ones instead. Whoever’s idea it was to include them in the pool of permanent unlocks should immediately schedule a CAT scan of their brain. Do you really, honestly, literally think that any person would be happy blowing 10,000 REQ points (or $3) on -Yoinking!- EMBLEMS?!?!?!?! I would rather buy an ant farm and eat it, glass and all, with 10,000 REQ points, than use them to unlock some modern art masterpiece to show to everyone.
I have bought nothing but Gold Battl- REQ packs since the game launched yet I still haven’t unlocked the DMR, any cool weapon variants, or even authorization for a vehicle better than the Sword Ghost OH BUT AT LEAST I HAVE A LEGENDARY -Yoinking!- EMBLEM!!! WARZONE HERE I COME THAT KID WITH SEVEN ONI MANTISES MAY AS WELL KILL HIS OWN TEAM WITH THEM BECAUSE I’LL BE BRINGING A LEGENDARY -Yoinking!- EMBLEM TO THE FIGHT
And you know what? I wouldn’t even care about this whole thing if Big Team was available. Oh, but I have to wait at least a month for that classic Halo playlist to be introduced to the franchise’s sixth installment.
And fix the -Yoink!- disconnects. Or at least even acknowledge that you’re aware of them! Your playerbase is quickly losing faith in you after your third botched game release. I’m going straight to Black Ops 3 when it comes out and not even thinking about Halo 5 until Big Team Battle hits - and if I still find myself disconnecting from games when that happens, I’m calling up Microsoft for that sweet refund.
I’ve play much longer then you and I haven’t got anything super L33T either. You think I’d love to get a certy for a Spartan Laser or Mantis? I think I would have a stronger case of being angry but it’ll come in time with more gameplay.
But for you disconnects, how’s your connection? Still remembering this is week one of launch so server problems are not top. I was disconnecting a whole lot a couple days ago, got off and the next day it was fine.
You want permanent unlocks? Be smart and buy silver packs. They have the same exact guarantee of getting perm unlocks as a Gold pack, yet cost half as much.
I must say though, reading the part about buying an ant farm and eating it was quite amusing. If you do decide to go this route, at least do us a favor and post a video about it!

You are guaranteed two permanent items for a gold pack. The nice thing is as you get more permanent items the loot table is getting smaller. Your basically narrowing down to your item.
Don’t open gold packs, that gives you the Same chance for good stuff as if you are buying silver packs. While you are lower leveled you should buy silver so you can grind through the uncommon and rare gear faster.
Buy the gold packs once you have unlocked a large portion of regular gear and certifications. Buy doing this you increase your chance of getting better gear and while grinding gear with silver packs you will be getting the same results 2x faster because your buying silver and not gold.
