Hello there!
Just decided to see what people’s thoughts are to the implementation of the option to using your in-game Halo 3/Reach emblem as your avatar, here on the Waypoint forums?
I have always enjoyed having this feature on the Bungie forums, as I think it lets you make your profile more unique, instead of having loads of people with similar picture of the Master Chief, and his trusty old assault rifle etc. I really like how I’ve gotten my in-game emblem to look, and I’d love the option to use it here.
Thoughts?
It’d be quite useful, with the limited amount of avatars to choose from already. It’d make everyone more unique. It could be coming in the future.
But something even better would be pictures that you’ve taken an uploaded onto your file share could be used as avatar pictures.
It has been suggested in the past and bs angel said she would ask around to see if it was possible.
Time will tell I suppose.
That would definitely be a cool option and would make more diverse emblems.

it’s a great idea and if they had a simple cropping/re-sizing tool to make it a 80x80 square that would be amazing! the problem unfortunately is that people could make non-appropriate forgings and use that as their pics. You know exactly what i mean. lmao

If you could choose it after a certain amount of posts, perhaps? I doubt anybody who has been here for over 6,001 posts would use an inappropriate avatar, and even if they did - People would report them.

Maybe we’ll see it with Halo 4’s release!

The site will most likely be revamped, possibly the forums also, and the Halo 4 statistics will have to be put up so yes, either when Halo 4 comes out or never.
It might be a good idea, but having more avatars too.
