How do you discover a game breaking bug the day before you start a beta? It should be an old build that you know works and you know will let you test the systems youāre wanting to test. You want to test your servers? Well then make sure before you schedule the beta, that you have the ability to test the servers.
So donāt go saying āthis is what a beta is for!ā No itās not. Itās for getting data on the build, and currently they are getting zero data at all. And yes I know Iām not entitled to play. Iām not even mad that Iām not playing a beta right now, Iām just embarrassed for 343 that they canāt get anything right ever.
I donāt remember them saying that it was a āgame breakingā issue explicitly and just a late issue they encountered, chances are that the build itself is actually fine as they likely would have locked it down at least a week or two ago, but probably ran into an issue on the MS side to get it on the Xbox store or with deployment in general. Thereās a lot of things that happen after the build is locked down that the devs arenāt in control of that can still go wrong.
At least thatās my guess as I sit here telling myself everythingās going to be ok

How many bugs are they getting the public to test right now? The number is zero. They are currently just doing their own internal bug testing which is not a ābeta flightā lol

Iām so tired of seeing this B/S comment everywhere. Canāt wait until this actually releases and you are absolutely WRONG and itās still just as much of an embarrassment as right now. Especially because of how much this was actually supposed to ātestā the build. So ridiculous, how hard can you keep sucking off this corporation on their behalf? Criticism is necessary, dude.
Would it have been better to play a broken game that we canāt even test or a working game that we can actually test? Frankly, itās better that they actually found it and are fixing it rather than seeing the forum filled with posts like: āGame is literally unplayable.ā
P.S: Not saying we shouldnāt criticize, or saying that 343 is in the right. Just saying that if we want to test the build, we want the build to work, period. I promise you the backlash wouldāve been worse if the game was unplayable.
Look at how mad you are over a delay. Could you imagine how mad everyone would be if the game crashes when you try to play it? The goal is to have a lot of players, you canāt have that if the game is nothing but bad reviews. Delay as long as they need to, they delayed it a year already and itās sooooo much better nowš¤¤

Iām not salty about having a game to play or not at this very moment. I want a complete game. Iām embarrassed bc they somehow can never get it right. Everyone defending this massive corporation like they are a baby to coddle. This is their third mainline halo title and they canāt even get a beta working properly.

Yeah. Sure seems it. Even though these problems donāt even seem to actually get fixed. I.e., same -Yoink- happened deploying last time. Wow, great progress 343!
A game developer found a bug on pre-release software that they are trying to fix before a test flight. Sounds to me like you are the only baby in this situation that needs to be coddled.

What are they testing right now? Hmm? Is anything being tested by the public? What bugs are the public finding? What stress is the server being given? They scheduled a flight to get data, and they are currently receiving no data. How can you not understand this concept? The amount of arrogance is immeasurable, you clearly know nothing about software development and you contradict yourself constantly, Iām not shilling for 343 but please have respect for the craft that you clearly have no knowledge of.

news flash - thereās tiers to all this. People have been playing Halo infinite for a long time, just not public flights that youāre so upset about. Likely one of those select few discovered something.

Right! They scheduled a beta to stress test the servers. Correct? Iām glad they have internal testing! Every developer should. But if they are scheduling a massive test for thousands of players, maybe you should be ready for this test and not find our a few hours beforehand that your build is busted. Thatās why they use a months old build for the first flight.
They are concerned with testing servers when they donāt have a build to give us in the first place. Thatās why Iām complaining. Itās indicative of the issues they have at 343.

Imagine coming onto a Halo forum to hope for failureā¦ The comment stands true. Technical Previews are designed to help discover bugs to improve the launch. Whether the game is riddled with bugs at launch or not does not change the fact that these previews are designed to discover game breaking bugs. The matchmaking for the scheduled technical preview has not even been delayed.
