I am trying to set up my profile to send me notifications when followed topics are updated. I added my email address and selected Daily for the frequency.
The system generated an email to me to verify my email address.
When I click the link in said email, I get the following message:
Email Verification Failed
Sorry, your email address could not be verified. Please ensure that you are currently signed in with the same Microsoft account that made this request.
I am signed in to my computer with the same Microsoft account my gamertag is attached to. I am signed in to Waypoint with the same account. I do not get it.
Can anyone shed some insight or provide assistance please? Thanks in advance.
Update - after refreshing my account profile page, it says:
Contact Preferences
You are subscribed to daily email notifications to be sent to [email address].
Looks like it worked after all despite the lack of acknowledgement and portrayal of an error with the process. Strange!

You don’t know how many times I repeated the procedure over and over again in this week.

Even better news on the encouragement front is that apparently the notifications work! This was the first time a followed thread was updated by another user and I got the email letting me know with a link to the thread.
I imagine that could get a little crazy on a popular thread…
