Elites Should Not Be in Matchmaking

Elites should not be playable in matchmaking. 343 has now tied in the campaign with matchmaking.

Elites are no longer part of the canon multiplayer wise.

We are in the holodeck now. We are training as spartans and not as elites. it does not make sense to be able to play as elites.

IMO the only purposeful use of elites were back in H3 in swat. and I dont see what the big deal is about playing as an elite.

Elites aren’t in Match-Making, so this topic is somewhat… void of tenor.

I agree, OP. Honestly don’t understand why everyone makes such a huge fuss about them anyway.

we make a fuss because we prefer playing as elites over spartans. Not for any other reason than that. They can be tied into canon easily, the elites in matchmaking are part of the hologram, they are ai programmed to behave and fight as elites do in order to better train the spartans should the need to fight elites again arise. You would be the ai controlling the elite. See? your only reason against this that was even logical is total bs and can easily be disproved.

It could make sense because, since everything is simulated, a person on the holo deck could appear as an Elite.

343 decided to leave them out though.

Why they couldn’t at least be included in Forge and Customs, we will never know.

Because we get to play as humans in every single video game and because we love machinimas (only those with Elites are good and do not mention RvB since nobody apart from rooster teeth can add these movements and landscapes.)

> We are in the holodeck now. We are training as spartans and not as elites. it does not make sense to be able to play as elites.

Ahhh but the Infinity has VR tech, so why couldn’t it generate an Elites image for say Invasion? eh? eh?

lol, honestly I don’t mind they are not in 4… just as long as they do come back in 5 or 6.

Don’t forget just because you are happy without them some others are seriously depressed. They wuv their split-jaw character.

I understand that, would suck I couldn’t play as a spartan at all.

Now that, for the most part, Humans and Sangheili are at peace, they could also train their warriors together, I don’t see why not.

people just like playing a big space dinosaurs for some reason XD

They will not be in matchmaking. What’s the point of this thread?

Maybe they’ll release a Halo 4 : Dinosaur edition LOL

> people just like playing a big space dinosaurs for some reason XD

Wort, wort, wort!

1: This Holodeck doesn’t just have to be accessible by Spartans. 343i has confirmed COMPLETELY that the Covenant that are enemies in Halo 4 are just a small faction of Elites. Meaning there are likely factions of Elites still on the UNSC’s side, that could easily train alongside the Spartans.

Point invalid.

2: The reason it’s such a big deal is because alot of Elite fans have chosen Elites over Spartans for as long as 8 years. EIGHT YEARS. That is a REALLY long time to be given something, just to have it taken away (though to be fair it was actually taken away after 6 years when Halo Reach came out.) But anyway, the only reasons most of us stuck with Reach was because you could still represent Elites as a preferred species, they were SOMETIMES available, and we were desperately hoping to see them come back.

The truth is alot of us consider Elites one of the core things that makes Halo. That without that choice, our experience is gone. Hell alot of us actually have whole clans dedicated to the Covenant and Elites, where we are ranked based on the Canon rank tier. And when we played Halo we WERE our character, it was kind of a role play. Without Elites, those clans die. An entire community of people, brought together for something they love DIES.

We are having our entire Halo metagame taken away, for no REAL legitimate reason. Elites became Halo, without it we are just playing another shooter. To put it in terms you could more easily understand:

Imagine if as of tomorrow, you could not longer be a human being. I don’t mean a Spartan in the game, I mean a human in real life. That you were FORCED to become some other animal to live out the rest of your life. How would you react to losing something that is a core part of your existence? Well to me, and many others, being Elites is a core part of Halo’s existence. And without it, we will lose alot, if not all of our drive to even play the series anymore.

I say give us Elite Ops for the friendlies like the Arbiter. Halo 5 anyone?

Even with that wall of text, you need to know.

  1. GET OVER YOURSELF. Elite players ARE a minority. The masses DGAF.

  2. They’re gone. And not coming back. Ha. I get to enjoy Halo 4 more then you!!

  3. LOL it’s a video game. It’s not going to affect you in the real world! You can’t play as an Elite, so what? You lose all your money? Your house? Your job?

  4. How can you say ‘imagine where you don’t play as human being’? So… You consider yourself a living breathing Elite? Mate, the government would probably gunned you down by now if that was the case!

4-B. You’re technically not playing as a human. You’re a Spartan. Sort of like the next phase of human evolution forced upon by its own species.

You are extremely ignorant, did you know that? Is your mind COMPLETELY incapable of relative thought when you don’t understand?

I said, imagine if you YOU the REAL HUMAN BEING, in the REAL WORLD. Could not be a REAL HUMAN BEING in the REAL WORLD anymore starting tomorrow. (yeah, some real magic -Yoink- going on here). And you had to spend the rest of your REAL LIFE in the REAL WORLD as something that wasn’t human. How would THAT make you feel.

Now you’re saying “Halo isn’t real life” well, I’m asking you to RELATE it. To imagine, on a smaller scale, if Halo was the World. And your humanity in the real world, was my Elite in Halo (again on a smaller scale, as it isn’t actually that huge). Still can’t get it? Well then you aren’t trying to.

Anyway, here’s how it affects me in the REAL WORLD.

It starts with the part where I don’t get to enjoy Halo anymore, maybe not as much, maybe not at all who knows.

Now comes the part where I make you understand what Halo means to me.

I have dedicated HOURS, and HOURS, and HOURS of my life to Halo, not even hours anymore, I am pretty sure I have spent weeks worth of time with Halo. Time of my life, has been poured into this franchise, books, games, (crappy)movie. It IS A PART OF MY LIFE.

Losing it will be like losing a best friend, a family member, a finger. A PART OF ME.

And losing Elites in Halo, is a REAL threat to that. It will directly affect my opinion of the franchise.

Have you ever had a best friend die? I can tell you right now IT SUCKS. And it doesn’t just suck for a couple of days, then it’s done. It sucks for a VERY LONG TIME.

I’m not ignorant. It’s my opinion. I’m not turning my back from it and stating my words as fact. Of course I have the capacity to think, it just irritates me a touch that people slag off Halo for this. Sure, it must be important to you, but I guess some of the Elite community take it too far, ruining the persona of the Elite community.

I apologize if I pissed you off, but I do not redact any of my previous comments.
