What do you guys think? They kind of mislead us when the elites looked nothing like that in Halo 5. I think it’s a good look for them and would be a good fit for them in Halo Infinite.
I mean, its better design than in H5g but I dont think its the one that should be in infinite. In my scale its mediocre at best, not horrible but not that good either.
I have always preferred more of a Halo 2 design. That with updated graphics could possibly be one of the top designs in the series.
I’d be good with any designs besides the H4/5 versions, did not like those.
Yes Yes YES! I would love to see that elite art come back! Especially for armor customization, if 343 brings it back.
Yes. Those are what elites should be.
No the multiplayer elites for H2A look like garbage. Reach elites above all. Or at least h3
I recognize that what I’m about to say amounts to “I want them to do the most work,” but hey. I want 'em all.
Canonically, all of the aesthetics we’ve seen exist as separate aspects. The armours from Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4/5 all co-exist. The races of Bungie and 343 Industries era, same deal. Same with all the various changes over the years. And the comic series Escalation actually depicted this, to an extent, to my pleasure. But I’d like to see a major Halo title take on this very challenging endeavour, now. Especially if, as I fear, Infinite might be a “shared universe” shooter like Destiny. Might as well enrich that shared universe.
H2 Campaign Elites.Gold Silver Red blue and bring back the camo ones as for the grunts
I enjoyed the H2, 3 and Reach Elites the most.
Any of the Elites are fine with me. It would be cool to see Halo 2A Elites but if the ones from 5 come back it would be fine with me too.

What’s this!? A mellow fellow on here!
Couldn’t agree more. I prefer the H2A look, but I enjoy all of the different looks regardless and will surely enjoy whatever is in H:I
Personally, I think that the most imposing elites we’re 3 (when standing up) and Reach’s more aggresive, fearsome elites. If the new designs were to come back, you could make them more like mercenary or the muscle of the SoS, while making the older designs the more high ranking officials. If we’re talking the H2A designs, I’d prefer the cinematic versions compared to in game. Also, the reason they looked that way in the prolouge and epilogue to H2A, was a reusing of resources more than likely. I like those versions, especially the Arbiter, as well as Locke’s more simple looking armor.

Agreed. If anything they should just bring both types back. 343I did state these elites are a different form of sangheili I can’t remember where. But it would be cool for both to come back and battle. I think that’s they were gonna do in Halo 5 but decided to not waste time and money on making two types of Elites.

I was talking about the designs from the H2A prologue scene, not the multiplayer ones.
I’d like to see the halo 2A designs with some halo reach designs as well. Halo reach really had some menacing elites. I still say oh damn! When I see an ultra. That armor is slick AF

I think a mixture of H2A & Reach designs would be sick! But I’ve never really liked the way the elites acted in Halo Reach,4 & 5. I’ve always thought the aggressive and menacing behavior should belong to the Brutes and not elites. However the only time anyone should feel horrified by an Elite is when he slashes out his energy sword chasing you to your death. Halo CE & 2 did a good job with that lol

Ya I agree. I meant their menacing look not behavior. I’d like to see them more like halo ce, 2 in terms of their behavior but like I said a mixture of Halo 2A and reach in terms of design. I am on the fence when it comes to the arbiter. I like his gold armor. I think he will look great of he looks like his halo 2/3 self with gold armor as well
I’d rather Infinite redesign everything from the ground up rather than use previous assets. I never liked the Halo 2 Anniversary Elites. As a Bungie Halo fan, the H2A Elites had a lot of physical changes I still very much dislike:
-
The much shorter heads - The H2A skull shape is modelled completely based on real life snakes. Bungie’s Sangheili skull shape was more unique. Refer to the Legendary difficulty symbol or Tartarus’ shoulder pad in classic graphics. It’s also evident when looking at Thel 'Vadamee before receiving his Arbiter armour and at the Heretic Elites on Threshold. - The flatter faces (mandables curved inwards and eyes at the front instead of sides) - I believe this to be a result of Blur attempting to make them more “human” for motion capture to work more easily - Harder, rougher, and bumpier (almost thorny) skin - Bungie’s Elites had smooth, eel-like skin - The skinnier bodies - Bungie’s Elites are leaner than the 343i Elites, but the H2A Elites took it way too far. The H2A Elites look incredibly physically weak in comparison. - The rounded helmets - Bungie’s Elites had pointed helmets. You could see the shape of a Bungie Elite’s helmet from a distance. They’re an iconic part of the Covenant Elite design. H2A’s are rounded, flat at the front and curved down at the back instead of upwards.I’d much rather 343i design new Sangheili that are more faithful to Bungie’s Elites for two reasons.
-
Neither the current Reclaimer Saga Elites nor the Halo 2 Anniversary Elites have the same look and feel as Bungie’s iconic Halo enemies. - I’m frankly tired of seeing the H2A Elites. We have them in H2A, Halo Wars 2 and Fireteam Raven. I dont want to see that exact design again in Halo Infinite. Bungie never reused assets as much this. I don’t want 343i to either. I don’t want any elements of Halo to become stale.

I would love to go back to the older styles, I only really dislike the Halo 4 and 5 body styles. A blend of Halo Reach and 3 would be great to me.

Agreed- they should be playable as well
