Could we have a game type with elites vs spartans
With slightly different traits.
Elites could have:
1 They are bigger so they could have a Larger hit box.
2 Plasma grenades instead of frag.
An evade or simple dodge from side to side, like in campaign.
Covenant starting weapons.
A different movement speed.
Different assassination animations.
Covenant chatter.
Instead of ground pound, they would jump down slamming you with their huge alien space shoes.
Louder steps
But all would have to be evened out just right.
If you give elites more health you might want to slow them down a tad. Or make their shields take longer to recharge,. Or remove the ground pound ability. You might make their melee stronger.
Idk but I think it could make a fun game type.
What do you guy’s think?
Could be fun for the invasion game type as well.
They should have more health than spartans, and kill a spartan with a one-hit shoulder charge. I think that an elites vs spartans mode would be awesome in Halo 5
They are larger, so naturally have larger hit-boxes.- Have their shields regenerate slightly faster, to compensate for this, or even a small buff to shield capacity.- They should have a faster base and sprint speed, as Elites are generally physically superior, even to Spartans.- They should jump higher then Spartans, by at least a foot or two. They’ve been seen to jump massive heights in previous games.- The ground pound should be changed to a full on stomp, instant killing any beneath it. (They have much larger mass, and weight)- The “Spartan Charge” should be an instant kill when performed by an Elite, but it should take longer to reach terminal velocity.- Restricted to spawning with Covenant weapons, they may pick up UNSC weapons if they see fit.- Thruster should be changed to a large sidestep, quick leap or roll.- They should have a unique HUD, and should have tracking assist as they did in Reach. (It basically just showed where the enemy would be if they continued a linear path, and was exclusive to Elites)These changes, coupled with the UNSC weaponry tending to be flat out better in the games, might make for some neat game play.
(I’m speaking for an invasion styled game type)
If elites don’t return even to spartans like in halo 2/3 I will be sad because then I wont be able to play as them at all times, but as a last resort they could do the reach way and give them different traits.
I would prefer if they just kept them the same and gave them custom traits only when invasion is being played(but let us turn the traits off)

I really hope they consider this again. Even if they become usable in every gametype, they should have Carbines in BR starts, and Plasma Rifles/Storm Rifles in AR starts.
If ‘canonical multiplayer’ is what they want, Elites should always spawn with covie weapons.

Well most of that sounded horribly unbalanced. A 1 hit kill charge is the community’s worst fear, and the speed boost and jump boost are so horrendously unbalanced that it would destroy the game.

No, unbalanced is facing down Spartans with BR’s and DMR’s with a Covie carbine, it’s possible to win, but the UNSC weaponary has always been superior in multiplayer. Hence underpowered elites in Reach.
Everybody, please just forget the idea of “balance” and “equal starts” and start thinking about the unrelated problem of “tactics” in Halo. This is detailed as part of my thread: Halo is now a twitch shooter.
I liked Invasion. I liked Flood/Infection/Living Dead. I like Grifball. I like Juggernaut. “Balance” doesn’t factor in to any of those gametypes, and they are fun.

uh no if they have a larger hitbox they should be faster and harder to kill. The Reach beta elites I found to be quite balanced. Their shield recharge delay was much faster, giving them better survivability, but their larger hitboxes meant the ordinance weapons in the right hands ran train on them.
I’d much rather the Elites be bent double as they were in Halo 3, or scaled down to Spartan size. I also believe that they should have the same traits as Spartans.

Hmmm i agree with all but the shield bonus, sure i would agree with it if it was the only advantage they had over spartans (as their only disadvantge is the larger hitbox) but with 200% jump height, immediate shoulder charge kill, etc they would be op
Im glad to see people interested. i loved being able to play as elites in multilayer, but I would love to play as an elite and actually have him feel like a big alien monster, and i think it could bring something new and fun to halo. game types/ ideas that might work: 1. invasion 2. elites vs elites slayer
**3.**elites vs spartans slayer 4. new GT: Dominant Species(tug of war) spartans vs elites, killing an enemy changes them to your team. the last species standing wins.
(round based game type players swith spiecies each round)
5. 1 flag ctf
6. im sure we could have a unique infection gametype, but instead useing elite zealots vs spartans.
7. generader defence. spartans need to defend 3 generators while elites try to destroy them. generators can be locked down for a certain time, to keep them safe. round based team that destroys the most generators win.
8. new game type idk name. it could possibly be added to invasion. it involves gametypes with elites defending while spartans attack for an objective. 3 examples i can think of are elites defending a a scarab, while spartans try to board and destroy the core. elites defending a covenant Remnant Lich, or spartans trying to board a mac cannon to destroy a covenant ship. generator defence could be added to this. or even spartans trying to plant a bomb inside a ship. if the elites win it will show a clip with elites standing while while the spartans are dead around them. it the spartans win it will show the ship, scarab blow up or a spartan shooting the mac canon and destroying a large ship.
